No, this isn't a horror movie trailer; it's a commercial from the early 70's. The eerie yet beautiful Blythe doll was on the market for only about a year because little girls were too creeped out by her. I love how at one point the camera moves in on her face horror-movie style. I love this doll, but no wonder it failed with marketing like this! (For those of you who took the If You Were a Doll quiz and want to know more about Blythe, here's another Blythe television commercial--but with no sound. And thanks to blythe15 for starting my obsession!)

I love it.
1I love Blythe dolls (as my avatar will show) - I've always wanted to buy one on eBay, but they're mad expensive.
2That face is going to be in my nightmares.
3Thanks for digging up the commercial, Giggle.
I feel a new little obsession taking root. . .(It's all in the eyes -- they're remarkable. And the pale, delicate, slightly alien-esque, broad-topped slender-bottomed face that is a bit reminiscent of Christina Ricci -- mysterious and lovely.)
4Yes, totally! Twin Peeps: Christina Ricci and Blythe.
5Watch out people! She is totally addictive! My best friend gave me one for my birthday, and there is no turning back! I even make little clothes for her! She is very expressive and moody and gets under your skin! ...Check out www.thisisblythe.com....
6Ewwwww its scary and ugly! I was just making fun of my moms friend the other night for liking these creepy little dolls!
7I found this on Youtube. It seemes these dolls have come back to haunt us. http://youtube.com/watch?v=IESPuImo5OY I think the originals are cuter.
