2008 has finally arrived so let's all start off the new year on the right foot. It's easy to feel a little post-holiday depression so be sure to check out my January must-haves to help keep you energized and your spirits high.

- Relax and help ward off sickness by getting a eucalyptus massage.
- Plan a ski trip with your friends. Not only will you have a chance to be active and outdoors, but it will give you something to look forward to.
- Join a gym and start working out with a personal trainer to help you make goals for a better you in 2008.
- If you suffer from seasonal affective disorder, buy yourself a sun lamp to ensure you get the appropriate amount of bright light, which can help with depression.
- Take painting or drawing class at your local community center or college to help wake up your creative side.

I like the idea of a sun lamp but it doesn't really appear to be very "decor" ready...
1Oh yes, I am SO booking a massage for this month
2I have started to write and it makes me feel so alive go '08.
3A sun lamp sounds like high energy bills to me...
4I suggest getting a facial. Mine included neck and shoulder massage and a foot and hand massage. It brightened my day!
Ski trip planned- check.
Gym- check.
I better break out those paints!
I suffer from depression every year, it hits me after the holidays are over. Three days ago I woke up feeling very sad and just started crying. Hubby and kids were out of the house already. I sat in bed for 5 hours crying. Finally I had enough and knew I had to take a positive step, no matter how small. So I got up, opened the curtains to let in the sun (I live in Florida), did some cleaning, took a walk, and cooked a fabulous (healthy) meal and felt better. Personally, if I were to have a massage or spent money on myself, I would've felt guilty and that much more depressed. I think the key is healthy eating and alot will fall into place after that. If you treat your body with respect, it's always a good thing. Just my opinion.
