Fighting with a best friend is one of the worst feelings in the world, but when you spend a lot of time with someone, the occasional argument is inevitable. So as part of my year-end coverage, I polled you guys about how many fights you had with your best friend in 2007.

I was delighted to see that most of you — about 40 percent — had zero fights with your BFF in 2007, while 27 percent of readers had just one major fight and 23 percent of you had two to five tiffs. Here's to a conflict-free new year!

Well, at one point, if you are having a lot of fights, sometimes it just means you need time off. It probably isn't normal, or you probably don't have anything in comon anymore. Same thing goes if you don't fights because in some ways, you don't even have anything to say, let alone fight about. Two exteems but same result.
1It's totally normal to bicker and have small misunderstandings with friends...you're not ALWAYS going to agree on things and who doesn't get into arguments every now and then??
But I'd start to question the friendship if it becomes very high-maintenance. Fighting on a regular basis and/or saying cruel and harsh things to each other is not normal...it's probably a sign that something is wrong with the relationship.
