Stand-up comedy is tough—take it from John Mayer. This past May, the soulful crooner mustered up enough nerve to get on stage at the Comedy Cellar in NYC and pull off his best impression of the dudes below. That is, he tried to be live, funny, and the only one standing. The reviews were mixed, but you got to give Johnny credit for attempting one of the most difficult jobs out there. Yesterday we asked you to name your favorite female stand-up comic. So, who is your favorite male stand-up comic of 2007?

2I am a huge Dane Cook and James Gaffigan fan! These boys are so hilarious because they have their own style.

Of this list, I like Ron White. I LOVED Chappelle's Show (rip, *sob*), but I don't think he's that great as a stand-up comedian.

16I do love the Pale Force with Jim Gaffigan and Conan O'Brien, but Jerry Seinfeld is the best comic I have ever seen live. He has the audience falling out of their seats his whole set.
17i would have to say someone who is not on this list is Gabriel Inglesias. And I think he is halarious! Im a fan also of Jeff Dunham. And always and forever will Mitch Hedberg live on. ♥
18Would someone please explain to me how Dane Cook is funny. He has been in some movies that were funny. What was it called, I didn't see it, but it looked good, that movie where all these girls wanted him? That looked funny. But his stand up, well he has said one funny joke in all the standup I've ever heard. Can someone please tell me one of his funny jokes or maybe a sequence I should get off napster.
I put Mencia. I like when Rock and Mencia get political, because usually they are correct, Mencia more than Rock. And I am a white (moderate) republican.
Yes Mencia slags off on his latin brothers and sisters, but only the ones that deserve it. Only the ones that come into this country illegally, act wrong, don't raise their kids right or generally don't behave like a person should.
Mencia seldom says something that I disagree with. Rock does every now and then. Carlin (May his soul rest in peace.) did sometimes. But Mencia, almost never.
19South Florida Comedian Laurie Fondiler is the comedian who is the best. My husband hired her for a birthday party and she absolutely rocked the house. We are hiring her again for our office party during Xmas.
