Dating lots of different people can be really fun and exciting, especially when you find someone you really like and it turns into a long-term relationship. Long-term relationships mean different things to different people, but for me, it's when you're together for a year or more. So I was wondering, how many long-term relationships have you been in?

1My longest relationship was 6 months, that was six and a half years ago. I'm 26 years old and HORRIBLE at relationships. Which sucks because I would love to have a long-term boyfriend

One lasting another two and a half years who decided he wanted to marry me AFTER we broke up. One lasting two and a half years who was an idiot. One lasting a month but it could have been long-term if it wasn't for his ex-wife. =)
Now my current one which is coming up to eighteen months in February!

5one and counting. sadly enough, all my other relationships (three others) lasted less then a year COMBINED haha. it was pretty scary when i made it to 6 months with my boyfriend now. we're going on two years in april

10High school sweetheart (sorta, I was in high school/college he was older) that lasted about 2 and a half years, and my hubby- we will be hitting the 3 year mark in April and our first wedding anniversary in March.
My husband jokingly told me that the reason he really wanted to get married when we had been together for a year and eleven months was bc his other two serious gfs had bailed right around the two year mark and he figured he needed to get married before then to make sure I stuck around. Hell I wasnt going anywhere, he was the first nice guy I had ever dated lol.

13i've had more exes than i can remember...sounds bad, i know, but that was waaay back in middle school and high school. i personally don't think they even count! i've only been in one long-term relationship before i met my current boyfriend. my previous relationship lasted 3.5 years (my first love) and my current relationship has lasted 1.5 years and still going strong.

17It's nice that there are so many people who have only been in one or two long-term relationships. Sometimes I feel really strange that I've only had one long-term relationship, going on 5 years! I had a ton of exes in high school, but nothing serious, just one lasting friendship from it. I feel though that when you near the five year mark you get restless and either want to get married (I'm only 23) or move on.
Oh well...love my bf to death anyway!

19well, one of mine technically lasted 364 days, not a full year (my senior year of high school and some of college). then my great love of college lasted 16 months but I broke it off because we got too serious.

Seems like a lot now that I'm looking at it, but I got good year-long breaks in between the first few which was good. Not a long break btwn last one and this one, but sometimes timing just isn't what you want it to be!

372 and this bf is the third long term relationship; this bf...it'll be 1 yr and 6 months. All my "long-term relationships" were 1.5+ years. Hmmm...I've had crappy dates and bfs in between these relationships, too.

People say the same thing to me... that I should have dated more and I shouldn't have had the same boyfriend throughout high school. But if you know he is 'the one' then nothing will change that!
39I've been in 3 very serious relationships.
My high school sweetheart for 4 years, an ex/the first guy I lived with for 6 years, and my husband (we've been together for two years so far). In between, there was a bunch of random dates and short-lived flings.
40Just two, my HS sweetie for about 3 yrs and my boyfriend now, going on 4 yrs next month.
412 - my high school sweetheart which was just a little over two years and my current boyfriend who I plan on marrying which will be 2 years in March! I've had a bunch of little things in between and things that I thought were going to be serious or long term that just didn't work. I'm happy with my two relationships. I learned from the first one and found what I truly wanted in the second!

One girlfriend of mine told me that, when she was in high school, a teacher told her never to marry her first bf. Then she asked me if I knew someone that married her first bf. Then, I said: "Yes... My parents"

I had a friend in high school and her parents were high school sweethearts. They have been married for over 20 years now (I think closer to 25 or 30). In fact I think they married right out of high school - like 18 or so.
48Also, my grandparents got married when they were 16 and 17 and they are still married! (55 years later!)
I had my first serious boyfriend when I was 17, we dated for a year. After him, I dated another dude for a year. Then I met my ex-fiance.. we were together for 2 years.. That's it! : ) I'm 24 and would say i'm doing pretty well!
