New Year's Eve is coming up and while it's not my goal to get a kiss from a handsome man once the clock strikes midnight, if I happen to get a smooch, I think it's a great way to begin the new year. What do you think?

Yes! Everyone needs a kiss at midnight, even if it's just from a friend.
1I never really gave this much consideration, until I spent New Year's Eve with my boyfriend last year. Up to that point, I had either been single or out of state, so it was amazing to have somebody to kiss. I'm planning on a good one this year, too! Our second full year together!

since my boyfriend won't be with me there will be NO kissing! we will do it 2 days after new years which will just have to be good enough

5My husband and our entire group of friends is spending NYE in a cabin in VT. I's going to be a blast - and there will be kisses all around. But I've had NYE's with no kisses, and they were fabulous, too.
6A kiss is awesome IF there is someone worth kissing. Be it a luvah or a good friend. I spent a few great New Years Eves solo. The gross part is close to midnight when creepy guys come out of nowhere preying on the single ladies. Yuck! It only looks good when Hugh Grant did it in About a Boy.
7If you get a kiss, that's great. If you don't, no big deal. Just have a good time and whatever happens, happens.
8OTHER. I don't think it's NECESSARY to kiss someone on NYE as long as you're having fun and celebrating. But if you ARE in a relationship with someone (or just a random NYE hookup

9In all my years...It seemed that Iam was always single when New Years came around...I always wanted to be kissed on the stroke of midnight...Hopefully this year I just might get that kiss..Am crossing my fingers..hahah!!! Happy New Year everyone...

13I think it's a fun and relatively harmless tradition, but if there's no one to kiss, I'm ok with that too. That's usually when I pour myself another cocktail!
14Coming from a family who did not celebrate any holidays or have any traditions, I wanted to start new traditions with my husband, so we do ALWAYS HAVE to kiss at the stroke of midnight on New Year's. One year, a couple years ago, he had to work that night & they didn't close the kitchen til 10 so I didn't think he was going to make it home in time & we planned to call & kiss over the phone but my Prince Charming made it home at 11:58 & we had a spectacular kiss!
15No. New Years Eve is no excuse for PDA -- not acceptable any time. I've spent 4 out of the past 5 NYE's with my boyfriend (now fiance) and we've never started any of them with a kiss... we always think it's rubbing your relationship right in the fact of your single friends, and we would never do that. Maybe it would be different if it was just the two of us home alone on the couch, but I'd rather be out celebrating with our friends and not have the kiss on the stroke of midnight... it's a stupid tradition.

21I've NEVER kissed a boyfriend at the stroke of midnight... it's always been a little earlier or after. Mostly because we're around parents/family or we're not in the same place at the time. Same for this year, my boyfriend & I will be apart on New Year's.

23I'm not sure. I haven't been single on New Year's for a long long time, probably 12 years or something. I don't remember it ever being a big deal though. None of my single girlfriends ever seemed to care either.
24Well, I've never been kissed on NYE so far. I will be next year when I get to spend it with my guy. I'm living in ignorance until then.
