I have a mole on my jawline. It's perfectly normal, but it grows this one little black hair right in the center of it. Nobody else notices, but it drives me nuts! I've been plucking it, but I worry that it may do something to the mole, and it looks like it's growing back sooner and thicker each time.
Is there a safe way to get rid of it?

you can get it lasered off, you just have to check that the color of the mole wont be affected as laser can lighten the skin. You're probably best off seing a dermatologist for an expert opinion.

2I actually have a mole like this on my elbow and sometimes the hairs are black and grow long so I clip them with a nail clipper to keep them short. I did the tweezer once like you, but never thought about what damage it could do the the mole! good question! I hope more people respond!
3You can also get a plastic surgeon to take it off. In my experience, plastic surgeons make nicer-healing cuts with less-noticeable scars. They can also send a sample to get tested for skin cancer if deemed necessary.
4I had a mole removed by my nose that people would always make fun of when I was a kid. I never had a hair grow out of it though. It was a very easy removal and it didn't hurt at all. I am glad I did it. Now people are noticing me and not my mole. Might be something to think about.
5my sister and i each have a mole on our cheek that grows one hair. it's gross, and we hate it, but we both pluck it. she's a doctor, so i figure if that's what she does, it's good enough for me. i've never noticed any damage or thicker hair, so it may be your imagination that it grows back thicker.
6Good question... I would definitely ask your dermatologist... trauma to a mole definitely isn't good (in the process of regenerating cells, they can turn malignant) but I don't know if plucking a hair counts, because it's a hair follicle?
Give yourself some peace of mind and make an appointment!
7Go see a dermatologist.
8I have the same problem. I have a mole on my jawline that isnt big and it has never bothered me until a hair strated growing from it. I asked my dermatologist about it and she said that I could pluck it and it wouldnt do any damage, but it is best to use a $10 womens hair trimmer that you can get at target. I've been using it and the hair grows back at a slower rate and the hair doesnt get any thicker or darker. I think its safer beause you are not touching the mole at all when you trim it.

Moles that grow hair aren't malignant.
