I go to see a psychic a few times a year... its fun and sometimes creepy how accurate she is...

I haven't but I don't know that I would.

I know people who have and are then super paranoid after, I don't think I'd want to risk having the same reaction.

I have been to a psychic, a tarot card reader and an astrologer- just out of curiosity and for some entertainment. The psychic was lame. The tarot reader was pretty accurate, the astrologer was frighteningly accurate for me yet way way off base for my mom. Ultimately though I think we control our own lives.

I have in the past, but it's no longer something I'd do.

My sister was a phone psychic for a while so I was able to get some tarot readings from her (free, of course). She's into horoscopes and all that stuff, but she's also got a degree in psychology. Oh, and if you ask her, she definitely believes she has an ability. And actually, most of the time what she says turns out to be true.

I don't know. I broke up with my boyfriend a little more than a year ago and since then I have been struggling emotionaly. I feel like I have hit rock bottom (not just with love but with career, etc). I have wanted to go to one to see what they would say regarding my ex and I and now also I want to connect with my grandmother who passed away, but I am too scared.

I had a friend who went to one and it was NOT a pleasant experience. The woman was downright mean to her and not all that accurate.

I also am struggling with my faith. I don't want what I am about to say sound like I am imposing my beliefs on anyone, but I am scared this isn't something God agrees with so I stay away from it for that reason as well.

If I were to go to a GOOD and RECOMMENDED psychic, could they tell me things regarding my ex and if I will ever see him again, etc?

I want to! I mean, I love reading about it, but never have done it for real.

ive been to psychics before and i don't believe in them anymore. they said one of my exs was my soulmate. yeah sure he was, because he cheated on me with my best friends sister in law. so i'm sureee he was. we've gone as jokes..but i wouldn't ever take that stuff too serious.

It sounds silly, but my boyfriend reads palms. He grew up in Africa and was taught by a family friend. I kind of pooh-poohed it until I saw him read a couple palms. For one, our closeted gay friend, he told him he'd had his first gay experience in the past year, which turned out to be true. Second, he asked another friend if she'd had kidney or liver problems as a baby. Turns out she had jaundice when she was a month old. He refuses to read mine and can't read his own, though!

a friend and i are wanting to go to lisa williams. she is so amazing on tv and the people she meets with seem very impressed with her. my dh would agree with the poster who suggested that this type of thing is "not of god", but i don't thik i would agree with that. people have different abilities and why wouldn't some people be able to tap into an energy that is as strong as the human spirit? i hope they are true, i think it's fun and i like watching the good ones.

I have gone with a friend, so we didn't take it very seriously. I do this coffee talk thing on the radio when they put her on and she is always accurate and very good. (I forget her name)

Yes I have been to one. She did a reading with cards and she only needed my birth date. At the time I thought most of the stuff she said was wrong - until years later she was right. Two key things she told me was to wear more maroon, it would bring me money. Four months later I got a job with better pay that required me to wear a maroon polo shirt everyday. She also told me that I was torn between two lovers and neither one was right for me. One of them would lead to drug use and I needed to leave him before he brought me down with him. A year and a half later he broke up with me with hints from friends that he was using drugs. I think if you take it as an entertainment factor, I think it is ok...but not on an everyday call Celio basis.

I've never been to a psychic cos I don't really want to know what's in store for me. I love living day by day. But I do own a deck of tarots, and do a reading for myself sometimes when I'm in certain situations where I have to make a decision, and I find they help me get an insight of things to do the right decisions. The last 3 readings I did were fairly right and led me on the right track.

I enjoy watching Sylvia Browne on Montel. I only believe her. I think 99% of the other "psychics" are phonies.

I've been to a tarot card reader for career advice. She said that there'll be a lot of confusion with what I want to do after college, but I'll have success much later on as a writer. I'm very excited about it. The numerologist was very positive and accurate about me although she tended to "spazz" out with what I assume would be feeling psychic energies since she said she was also a clairvoyant. But the psychic was a little off. He told me that by the end of next year's semester I'll know what to do that contradicts what the tarot card reader said. He was right about some stuff while the other things he said were off. I had a slightly bad feeling from him.
After my experiences, I would go again but not so often. I like to believe that the future holds any kind of possibility. I don't want to depend on psychics all the time. Sure, they give helpful advice, but I don't want other people telling me what to do with my life.

My mom always said they were sinful and evil, so i've always stayed away. I don't believe that, but, like Dear, spirits and ghosts are one of my irrational fears. So, I doubt I'll ever go to one.

I have the ability myself but usually just block it out now because in the midst of life it just seems to be a burden. I believe so many psychics are authentic but you also get people who are just BAD and out for a quick dollar. It's so hard to find a truthful one who is in it to help people.

I got a reading by my psychic teacher when I was twelve and she said I would be working in the art field. I would also have a great husband and two kids but I have no indication of that happening yet. However, she was very dead on about the Art part because I have always been heavy into the arts.

I went to one about 3 years ago. i was seeing someone who i thought was "the one". She described a guy to me (who was nothing like the guy i was dating)someone small and annoying she said. then told me i would fall madly in love, move out of state for money, but move back within a year and then marry and have two children, She said it would all happen really quickly. I disregarded it all since i was so into this guy i was dating. WELL.... soon after this super irritating guy kept comming around me, a small annoying guy. 2 years later we moved to Louisiana from California for his work contrace and are planning to move home next year. We talk about marriage and kids all the time. Its funny, i dont know i would see a psychic again, but its really interesting to look back on what she said!!

I can think of so many other worthwhile things to give my money to other than a psychic. God and prayer are there to turn to anytime - no appointment necessary!

I would go for the experience, but I want to visit a "real" one (if they exist). Not a fake one that just reads your reactions and body language.

I am opening a shop in my local town to cater for "holistic therapies" and spiritualist mediums are going to be one of the items on the menu.

The medium I am in touch with has personally done readings for me and all my friends. She picks out things VERY accurately (she told one of us the film we'd seen the day before.. wtf!!) and I trust her. She only asks for a donation to her spiritualist church because she does not feel she should abuse the gift she was given.

There are a load of quacks out there but if you hit on a good one then stick to them because they really are special people.

Ahh yes.. I talked to somebody last night about Sylvia Browne. They did a documentary about her. I'm not a fan..

I was recommended to a psychic near novi, michigan who my friend went to. the recommendation was based on the fact that the psychic, after seeing a picture of my friend's sister, said that her sister should pay attention to her ovaries in the next few months. And within those months, her sister found a cyst on her ovaries, after having no previous issue, and it was taken care of immediately and she was fine.

So based on that, I went. It was at the woman's home, I made an appointment and she asked me to bring clothing or something close to me and anyone i asked about. also to bring in pictures of my pets, any babies in the family, and anyone I was going to ask about.

as soon as i walked in, she started describing me to myself; extremely perceptive things that most people dont pick up on - like that i am very analytical and have more a masculine demeanor in some situations, etc.

then i wrote down the first names of people i wanted to ask her about. and she looked at my pictures and just started talking. and she talked for an hour. she told me somethings i didnt care about knowing (like how many kids i was going to have, i actually forgot what she said because it didnt matter), but was very very specific on some things (like who i was going to marry)

i am not sure if it is an experience i want to be part of again but I am glad that i did it for the experience. i would never go to a psychic who is on the highway with a sign advertising and takes walk ins and stuff. granted, my personal hour visit was kind of expensive.

really..... i think the "ability" is just acute perception - but it is very impressive.
