I have a friend who is constantly late for anything we do. Whether we have reservations at a restaurant, tickets to a movie, or plans to meet for drinks after work, she can never seem to make it there on time. It's kind of like a running joke with us (I even call her Gramma now). I always tell her to be somewhere at least 30 minutes before the real time, knowing that when she shows up late, it'll actually be right on time.
I'm the total opposite. I'm anally early for meetings and appointments. I feel much calmer getting where I need to be at least five minutes before I'm supposed to, just so I can get settled in. I hate the feeling of being stressed from rushing around.
So how about you? When it comes to places you need to be, are you chronically late or perpetually early?

I try to get to places right on time. I'm either a minute early or a minute late. If you ask my husband though, who is in the army, I'm late when I show up on time because I'm not 5-10 minutes early like him. It drives me crazy how he nags about getting places early and I drive him crazy by 'just barely making it'. It's a give and take situation.
1always early. it runs in my family. i leave for everything an hour before i should.
2I always try to be right on time! I hate when people are late with me, so I try not to be late with them.
3Unless, of course, my boyfriend holds me up...he is one fo those late ones...
I'm usually right on time. I try to leave early though. Sometimes I'm too early.
4Perpetually early. i'm usually there 5 minutes early. That's the norm. Only if = really force myself not to leave to early or rush will I get there right on time or sometimes even 5 minutes late. Of course, when my mother drives me somewhere, I am always late, but that'S ebcause she wn't get going
5chronically late.
i hate it
6Perpetually early. My mom was always obsessed about being early and I guess it rubbed off. I panic if I think I will be even a minute late.
7I am always early to EVERYTHING. Always. I get paranoid that I'm going to be late so I prepare and leave extra early. I can't commit to driving with my mother anywhere when we have to be someplace at a certain time because she's always late!
8say its work or and appointment, I'm either early or RIGHT ON TIME.. anything else.. i don't mind being a little bit late!
9Depends on the day and what issues arise...
I always try to be early on time, I don't think anyone's strives to be late...
Or do they??
10I'm chronically and habitually late ALL THE TIME...I can leave on time to be somewhere, but something ALWAYS happens... people know now that I'm always late and when I make plans for 8:00 no one ever really expects me there before at least 8:15 lol
11I am always early ....I just panic if I'm not there on time. Guess it's bad like this but I can't help myself. I always leave earlier than I should. Rarely, but I do it, I even call that I'm not meeting up at all if I'm late. arrghh.
12I am always early. I cannot stand being late and I cannot stand when others are chronically late. I find it very rude and disrespectful.
13I think it has something to do with whether you were born early or born late.
14both during different times in my life. now: early.
15Always early, which sometimes is as bad as being late! But for the most part being early is big help...
16Neither. I'm on time.
Lateness is a huge pet peeve of mine.
17I'm always early. Sometimes I get to doctor appointments half an hour or forty-five minutes early; I leave early in case of traffic and in case there's no parking, but it's always way too early.
18I'm aways on time...
19For busniess im way early. I like to look through everything again, befor i have to talk about it, so im the first one to everything there.
20Private i'm punctual, sometimes a little early but never to late. I hate it when someone has to wait for me. I don't like it if i have to wait 10-20 Minutes, so i don't be late. Ever. My siter says about it as a joke, that when i am late at anytime she know something bad happend to me.
@Teamsugar: I would love to believe that, but my sister is a preemie and she is late to everything, so thats sadly not true ;)But it would be great when it was true! That would make it me so much easier
And i think a few other people as well.
21I used to be chronically late to everything, even work. It used to drive people crazy. Now I'm usually on time. I don't like to be too early because I don't like waiting around.
22I'm just the opposite, babychloe! I used to be early (not even on time, early) and now I'm always late...
23HA! Thanks TeamSugar...I'll let my boss know that next time!!! I was born 2 days late!!
24Im ALWAYS early!!! I hate being late and am super annoyed by people who are late.
Even when I try to be late for something like a party Im always on time
25Chronically late. My life is pretty disorganized right now. And I commute an hour each way so if I don't hit the subway at exactly the right 20-minute interval, I'm probably going to be late.
26When there is some sort of deadline, like I have to e-mail a professor a paper by 10:00 pm, I will get it done just in the nick of time (in other words, 9:59 pm). I get to class right on time. Never too early if I can help it (I hate waiting around and doing nothing... I commute to school and sometimes my train gets to the city early, so I sit in the subway station and let a couple of trains pass by, just so I won't be there more than 15 minutes early). But otherwise...
Chronically late. Sometimes, getting up and doing something or going somewhere is just a disturbance to my comfort. Some people call it laziness, but I just call it... well, I don't call it anything. I'm too comfortable to think of a word for it
Maybe TeamSugar is right... they had no choice but to induce labor two weeks after my due date... I still wasn't ready to come out!
27I'm one or the other- but never right on time. Usually, I'm waaaay early, but sometimes I get sick of spending half my life sitting around because I'm too early, so I'll make myself wait an extra ten minutes before walking out the door. And, of course, those are the times when I hit traffic or take a wrong turn, and I end up being late. :-/
I am always ready to go an hour before an appt, no matter how close it is. My boyfriend, though, doesn't even get out of bed until 30 minutes before he has to be at work.
28My dad is German and growing up...if we were not at least 15 minutes early for something (which, btw, was cutting it too close and oh the drama of that) we were unforgivably late. I couldn't stand it.
I used to always be early...but no one else ever was. Gay Standard Time of my closest friend (his term, how cute...grrrrr) and really having a bunch of chronically late friends and just the smart ass in me wanting to show my dad it was ok to be late. (HA, it isn't ok to be late.)
I gave up and slacked off and acquired this late thing...
Now I am exactly on time, but want to get back to being about 10 minutes early.
29I am always early. Always. I feel uneasy if I am running behind even if it is only by a couple of minutes or so.
30i always try be on time, perhaps a little eraly if possible. but i come forma family that is alwyas always late, which isnt easy to live with whne you hate being late.
31I'm alway early...like 20 minutes early
32For anything involving strangers, people in service professions, or avoiding bad traffic, I am chronically early. I used to be late all the time when I was student teaching in a rural area, but now that I'm teaching in a city, I am always early because I know that if I leave five minutes after 7:00, I will get caught in a horrible traffic snarl, and nothing stresses me out more than horrible traffic.
For anything involving friends or family, I tend to be chronically late. Usually only about 5-10 minutes, though, whereas most of my friends and family seem to think that as long as they show up within 45 minutes of the scheduled time, everything's okay. It kills me.
33I am always super early! I get impatient waiting around to leave so I arrive at least a half hour, if not more, early than I should. but I would much rather be early than be running late!
34I am always on time, or most of the time even early. but never late!
35early! i was scarred for life as a child b/c my mom was ALWAYS running late
36I HATE it when people are late- i think its so annoying to the person who is actually running on time. I think it borders on disrespectful.
37When I was in band in Jr. High, my band director had a motto: "To be on time is to be LATE. To be 15 minutes early is to be on time." I STILL hear that in my head, and am usually 15 minutes early for whatever it is.
I can't STAND perpetually late people!
38I used to be chronically late until I met my husband. He is early for everything! Now I'm early too because of him. I have a friend who is late for everything all the time - but REALLY late, like she will show up an hour and a half late. It's definitely affected our friendship.
39I'm always late. Not intentionally, but it always turns out that way. I really would love to break this habit. I think it's more stressful because I'm always rushing to get to places.
40I'm usually between 5 minutes early and five minutes late, depending on traffic and the circumstance!
41i always arrive a little early... not too early, just a few minutes. i HATE when people are late. its such a pet peeve of mine. i think its incredibly rude!! (of course, unless there is a good reason.) i had a roommate in college who was always late, she didn't care if she made anyone else late and was generally running late for everything for no reason. it drove me insane!
42I am perpetually early. Especially since the military. There, it is engrained that on time is late.
43I usually leave with enough time to get me where I need to be exactly on time. I hate being late. Never looks good.
44And I agree with Megatron! Military has made me the way I am
45My best friend and I have the same situation!! I was born a day late and I think that my being perpetually early is making up for it!!
