I smoke, so it doesn't bother me either way. I'll quit when I want to try to have babies, but right now I just haven't found my reason yet.

Turn-off. I don't like the way their skin or breath or clothing smells. I also don't like the health problems that come along with smoking in the long term! I wouldn't want to worry about that down the road, so...

i have asthma so i would never date a guy who smokes, it would bother me to much.

i used to hate guys who smoked--then it turned out my three serious relationships (including the one i'm in now) are all smokers. altho my boyfriend now doesn't smell like smoke like the other ones did--i never can figure out why. i figure we all have our vices.. and if they're a great guy--i can't write them off for that.

Off off OFF! Last boyfriend was a smoker, disgusting. Smell on his clothes, even worse, his hands. On some occasions when he kissed me, I felt sick, nauseous and light-headed. HATED it. Couldn't do it ever again. He was completely toxic for me, in every way.

I couldn't date someone who smoked, mainly because I quit smoking 1 1/2 ago after smoking for 5 years. It would be too big of a temptation for me. I don't want to start back. Its a complete turn off.

In real life no,gross, but when Clive Owen is smoking on screen (in more ways than one, wink wink)it's not a problem for me...!

I don't really care considering my husband smokes. I don't like it around me or in my house and he doesn't do either of those so I'm ok with it. I do wish he would stop altogether though for his health.

I swore I'd never date a smoker and I'm engaged to one. It's kind of tough to say 'no' when all the other ingredients are right. I don't particularly like it and I hope he'll quit one day, but he's perfect in every other way so I've learned to never say never.

I say turn off, but I do have a few exceptions. 1) If he is French. 2) If it's a random social smoke.

It's not only a turn off for me, but it's a deal-breaker. I'm not saying that smokers are bad people, but one day I want to have children. I will never put my child in a smoking environment. Plus, I could never kiss a smoker. The smell of smoke makes me want to gag.

Gross. Never dated on but weed smokers are just as gross. I dated a guy who smoked weed 5 times a day and it was so annoying and his breath always smelled like bong water.

Ick! No one wants to be around someone who smells bad, whose clothes and hair and house and other items smell bad. I teach and had a BIG smoker in class one semester - I knew because when I graded his papers they smelled like smoke. Bleh.

HUGE turn-off. My brother-in-law smokes and I don't know how my sister can stand it, their entire house smells like an ashtray. I went to visit them and when I came back everything I had brought with me STUNK, even my suitcase. UGH!!!!!

I like the way it looks like in movies like Leo sitting there brooding over his first love and smoking in romeo and juliet. GOOD GOD THE HOTNESS! But in real life, I still think it's sexy looking but not tasting or smelling.

Absolute turn-off. I can't stand the smell, or the principle of the thing - doing something harmful to yourself and everyone around you because it's "cool" or something. I know I'm oversimplifying, but it still instantly lowers my opinion of anyone to find out that they smoke.

Turn off. Growing up my dad smoked and the house always stunk. When my parents divorced I wasn't around smoking so for the past 11 years Ive been breathing cleaner air. Although when I get around ciggy smoke it hurts my lungs

i never dated a smoker. i guess if i got to know them at work or in class or something and they were a smoker i might have considered it, but on the fly i would never have gone out with one. the smell makes me physically ill. my dh's new secretary is a smoker and even though she doesn't smoke at work the smell is all around her, like a cloud. i can't stand to be in the office when she is there.

its mostly a turn off. i don't mind the guy who has the occasional cigarette when drinking or when really stressed- i've been known to do the same. i don't want to date a chain smoker. that being said- i wouldn't not date a guy who smoked, if he had everything else going for him- but i would make it clear before i begin a serious relationship that its a habit that needs to be quit!

Omg my guy smokes... and He hid it from me from months.... then I guess one night he forgot to hide it and I tried to bribe him to quick smoking.... needless to say all the kisses in the world didn't change his mind... He thinks its sexy... and that he looks like James Dean.... He wishes!
