This tattoo artist found out 26 years after he had this Chinese lettering tattooed to his chest that it says...Coca Cola. Whoops. (He thought it was his name in Chinese letters.) He was in Thailand and someone asked him why he was advertising Coke on his chest. Hey, at least it doesn't say "I wish I'd stop menstruating." Click here to read more.

Yeah, I got smacked upside the head for my tattoo! A Chinese woman at work wondered why I didn't consult her first. She has a point. Luckily it says what I wanted it to. It's called RESEARCH people!

2This is why I will never get a tattoo...
3Dum dum.
4That's why I'm done with tattoos and I never did characters.
5i don't know what this has to do with tattooing generally - is a dragon going to be mis-interpreted? what's with the comments about this being the reason why to not have a tattoo? i just don't get it. i was looking at a site for hours the other day where people had chinese characters tattooed on their bodies but the meaning was different than they'd thought, like above - some very funny stuff out there! mostly, why would you get a tattoo that is in another language, generally? what does that mean to/for you? how does it incorporate your ideals?
6Silly..he believed the person? That's really weird!
7tdamji, I don't think much thought is put into it. The characters just look "exotic" and "cool" to people who don't speak that language, and they see it on others...It's like the "tribal" arm tattoos that frat boys get.
