Many years ago, I had a first date with a guy I knew from college. While we talked over coffee, he kept glancing down at my chest. I wasn't wearing a tight or low-cut shirt, but he seemed pretty interested in my breasts. I really didn't know what to do since I didn't think there were actual guys who did this. I made up some excuse about having to leave because of a paper I totally forgot about and booked it out of there, pronto.

Later that week I ignored his emails asking whether we could see each other again. Finally, I emailed him back and said flat out, "Why, so you can stare at my chest some more? I don't think so!"
Has this ever happened to you? If so, what did you do? Were you mad, or was part of you a little flattered?

HAHA- that is SOO funny that you called him out Dear. I HATE when guys do that- it grosses me out to the max. I mean really, do they think that you dont notice that they are obviously engaged in something else?
1It doesn't offend me, but I'm not going to hang out with someone who does it regularly or anything like that.
I have a very large bustline. I'm used to eyes going straight to it, they have since I was in the 5th grade. I now only really notice if the person is absolutely unable to make eye contact at all.
2If it is a few glances, I find it funny and flattering. However when his eyes are glued, it can get disturbing.
It also depends on who's doing it.
3Ha I remember one time in 8th grade I wore this really sexy shirt (too sexy for an 8th grader
) and my crush was staring directly at my boobs for like 5 seconds and when he looked up I was looking at him and he was like "oh, uh, I, your, I like you shirt!" Mission
Accomplished. lol jk those were the days
4a few glances are funny, i can agree.
But it gets to a point where its annoying.
Like this friend of mine from High School, i dreaded every day seeing him, it was like O_O, just like that face hahahaha
(take in mind Lady's I'm a B cup) so a few years later down the road, i bumped into him at the movies, and i just said Hi politely, and he was with his girlfriend, and again with the dramatic stair O_O
one friend of mine said to me:
5Don't worry! he probably masturbates to much
LOL!
It happens all the time (I have fairly large tatas...). And in junior when I just got them was the worst...I hated them! Every guy was obbessed with them, and that's what I was known for! And I'm not like a super huge girl either. I'm 5'6" and my chest size was 34DDD haha!!!
6Now that I am at the gym, my chest has shrunk a little (thank god) to 32D, but people stare a lot still!
Just the other day at work I was tlaking to a girl and she was little starting at my boobs! A chick! Staring! hahaha I had no idea what to do, and it was distracting, so I tried to just keep talking and not notice...
I had a supervisor once who kept staring at my chest, one day i finally said "it says old navy dude" and he stopped looking
7A quick glance is fine because we are human and we can't control our eyes sometimes LOL, but actually STARING at my chest is disrespectful, I mean, how dare any guy think that he can objectify me like that
8I have always had big boos since 4th grade and I have gotten used to people staring at me. I have a small frame body but with big boobs..so they look fake I guess. But when its guys that I don't know and they just have that eye glued to my chest I get pissed off. Its just gross.
9when i was younger i got mad but now it happens me so much i don't care anymore! i can't control other peoples' eyes
10I've never had that problem. I love my small chest....wouldn't change it for the world!
11its very annoying.....I always had to deal with the stares too....i didnt know how to deal with it when i was young...now i either say 'whatchya looking at'? or just walk away
12I don't have much of a chest, I have something but nothing a guy would want to stare at. So I have never had this problem.
It would really bother me though- I have feelings and I would like to be looked at (in the eye) when I am speaking or being spoken too.
13I like how this picture has a beautiful girl..but she has no chest at all. funny. I really only take offense when I am in a professional situation or when I have actually caught the guy and made eye contact. If he continues after I give the "are you serious?" look, then I will get confrontational.
14It makes me very angry because I am an intelligent woman with more talents than having boobs on my chest. Besides those belong to my husband and aren't there to be ogled by other men.
15And I do not have a large chest but it still happens. I do have a Jessica Biel-esque butt though so a lot of times I'll catch guys staring at that and that's funny to see the deer in the headlights look when they get caught. Or if I see them in a mirror I'll go, "I can totally see you!"
16When I was in middle/high school, guys used to stare and make comments all the time!!! Sometimes it was flattering and sometimes it was just plain annoying! lol I went from a 42DDD to a 40 D and I don't get as many stares as I used to! My husband loves to stare at them though ( he didn't do it disrespectfully when we were dating )
17yeah i agree most of the time its annoying. i dotn have must of chest so its rarely a problem. but glances in a non professional setting (esp when yuou are wearing a top that enhances it in a social setting) but staring is just plain creepy
18I have a very small chest, so it's not a problem. However, one time my friend was b*tching about guys and girls staring at her chest while she was wearing a shirt that I thought they were going to pop out of. I couldn't help but stare when they're almost naked and in my face.
19I can't say i think much of them, i don't like being objectified and being lowered to a body part. My body is mine.
20lol. im flat. i have nothing to worry about. but before i lost sum weight i had the huggest butt (think jlo) jajajaj i HATED BEING STARRED AT... it was like, HAVENT U EVER SEEN ONE BEFORE grr
21I have a very large chest, my bra size is 36 E (I'm breastfeeding), so I get this a lot. I get embarrassed a little and feel uncomfortable and usually cover up with my hands so they know, I know they were staring, they usually get just as embarrassed as me.
22guys stare at my chest too,,,but only out of pity cuz im so flat and dun need to wear a bra adn they have biggesr boobs than i do,,, they always say im too flat stupid boy,,,
23A few glances are amusing and kind of flattering, but if the guy is totally unable to make eye contact, it gets a little annoying. I imagine if I had a bigger chest and it happened more often, it would get a lot annoying. As others have said, it also depends on who's doing the staring. I've been known to flash my husband when I catch him doing it; a creepy looking stranger would be another matter entirely!
24my eyes are on my head. the only person who can stare at my chest and get away with it is my boyfriend.
25I THINK THEY ARE NAUGHTY PERVS!!...LOL..BUT LIKE FASHIONHORE SAID...I have something..but not something to stare at..LOL. but i get there..eventually.
26having large breasts since i was thirteen (im 24 now) i've kind of gotten used to it. i just usually look at them and go "they don't talk back you know". that usually shuts them up and they stare elsewhere because they know i'm onto them
27I don't have a problem with this because I have no chest!
28As many other people were saying, I think a quick glance is ok and kind of flattering. But if their eyes dart back again and again or linger for more then a second it can get Very uncomfortable.
I have encountered a couple of men who will not even try to hide it and that is the worst! I actually think it's rude.
However, if a girl is wearing a shirt where she is showing them off - then you're asking people to look, I think.
29Even being a girl myself; if someone is wearing a shirt that shows off lots of cleavage/boobs (more so with large boobs), it's almost a distraction and difficult Not to look at... They are RIGHT there! Lol
well, i am rather flat chested so i don't get much staring there. BUT i am really tall and have really long legs and i work out a lot so i get a lot of stares at my legs. I think it's kind of funny because people will stare and not realize i am looking right at them looking at my legs. Unlike the chest people will sort know when they get caught and quickly look away.
It only creeps me out if the person doing it seems creepy.
30maybe its the kid in me, but you said "flat out" and "flattered" I giggled. I personally love my breasts and dont care that guys look. I dont flaunt them like Pamela Anderson, but once in a while its nice to have the attention. Why else would there be bikinis and low cut shirts?
31my friends boyfriend constantly stares at my chest. I dont think i have ever looked in in the eye. It creeps me out but i dont know how to bring it up to my friend. They have been dating much longer then i have known her. Its really akward an i try to avoid him at all costs.
32If they STARED at the boobs, it can get insulting and creepy. But if it's only a few glances, I'd probably ignore it.
Mine are small-ish, so when someone actually stared I don't get flattered, instead, I'm confused.
33If it's laughable, I just laugh.
34But if it's a hard, creepy stare, I'll back away slowly. I have a lot of guy friends who do it as a joke, so I'm pretty lax about it.
haha i agree with 3 and 33!
35I don't really mind, I'm used to it--especially with my boyfriend, he's obsessed. If I'm trying to have a discussion with someone and they're staring I get annoyed, but otherwise I don't care.
36I'm a double D and I've just become used to it! I don't flaunt them whatsoever, but it's generally pretty obvious. I generally don't speak with guys who blatantly stare at them though, I always go for nice boys (friendship and relationship wise).
They are a handy tool sometimes though. The other day I desperately needed new tires (after I blew one out) and the shop told me that they didn't have the size that fit my rims, and one mechanic was more than happy to check again, to find that they actually did have my tires!
37I don't mind.
38Good for you for calling him out on his crass behavior, Dear. If a guy is staring at my chest while we're talking, I'll crouch down so that my eyes end up where my boobs were and then say 'Up Here' gesturing with my hand to my eyes.
I think guys who ogle like that are lowlives.
39I've got fairly big boobs, especially for my age (17) and they've always been a topic of conversation...i think because i'm so short and small they're more prominent (I'm only a 10D). I don't mind the odd glance, and I've noticed quite a few of my male friends still check them out, but its weird for me when older me look at them. For instance, my landlord this morning when he didn't think i noticed!
40It all depends how they look at them....
you can totally tell when I guy is a perv, a jerk...or yes, even a good guy...lol.
some can be totally disgusting...I once had to work with this guy (1 day only) that made me feel like I needed a shower! It was his first day at work and also his last.
41i can see why a lot of girls would fint it irritating to have their chests stared at, but i have to say that some women out there have picture-perfect boobs. I occasionally stare at other women's boobs simply wondering how they differ to mine, and from time to time, just to appreciate. One of my best friends actually allows me to openly stare at hers, and as girls we all discuss different aspects of our boobs. So i can sympathise when men find it hard not to stare, the creepy part is that they do it sexually.
42*find
43guys in school always use to stare at my chest...I finally decided that i was going to play at there own game so everytime I caught them staring id stare at there croch...i have excersised alot and my boobs have gone from a d cup to a c..thank god
44lol pinktulips!
It doesn't bother me too much if it's a guy I like and he's trying to do subtle glances. A creepy guy who can't stop staring if a different thing entirely!
45I used to wear more revealing tops in my early college days. Now I'm just lazy and throw on t-shirts and hate to accentuate them at all. I do miss the days of catching guys in the act, though. There was a guy who used to sit next to me and "discuss serious topics" with me while he looked down my shirt.
46Another time I wore a LBD to a percussion convention (more 90% male attendance), and I had a few guys actually tell my breasts hello.
I work on a trading floor and just today as I was talking to a co-worker, I saw him completely stare some girl up and down as she walked by. It's terrible but comical at the same time.
47man oh man what is it with men and boobs? mine get stared at ALL THE TIME.i'm 5'6",thin,and have 34DD.i am sick and tired of guys staring at my chest.now,if it's my boyfriend i encourage it,but random men? i don't think so.
