Are you a gambler? Do you like the thrill of risking your money on a bet, or are you coyer with what you do with your hard earned cash? I for one am not a gambler, but I have many friends that could sit at the black jack tables for hours and never get bored! Of course, I understand the rush when you win big, but I always raise the question, is it worth it when you lose big?
What I want to know is,

honestly never really gambled..
1actually thats not totally true
im in the football pool at work
and thats the closest thing to gambling i have ever experienced
As long as you don't use money you need like for bills then have fun and don't do it too often!
2Im not a huge gambler. Im not the kind to bust my ass at work earning my money and lose it all in the slots.
BUT, I am freakishly talented at a little game we call Roulette. I will pick a certain amount of money that I'll allow myself to play with (like $500) - I wont sit at a table for too long - I get up, and grab a drink, or check the scene out.
If I lose all the money (doesnt happen) I wont even put .25 in a slot. Im done. And when I win a ton, I know when its time to get up.
But, I could take it or leave it - honestly.
3I have never gambeled in my life. Haha nothing! At all! Maybe like a stupid drunk bet, but yea none for me!
4I have never had a desire too and I think it's a stupid waste of money
I love gambling. I especially love playing poker for money.
I never have enough money out there to be devasted if I lost it, so it's not really an issue.
5I like gambling ok--not a pasttime I pursue, but not one I frown upon either. My exbf taught me how to play a mean game of blackjack, and we'd go hit up the casino, make a quick 200 bucks, then leave. But I grew up in a poor mining town surrounded by Native American casinos and I saw all too well how gambling addictions could take people over. Its not a positive thing with some people and in closed off environments with little to do but throw their money away on drugs, alcohol, and gambling.
6i don't gamble at casinos. i just find it to be a waste of money. i'd rather blow a couple hundred bucks on an outfit and be able to wear it. i don't have a problem with people who do gamble (well people who do it recreationally occasionally) but its just not my thing! i've done office pools for football and final four and such- if you consider that gambling i guess! but those are once a year things in small increments so i more look at it as a way to cure office boredom! when i bet against my friends (and cute boys
) for sports or pool or something, i usually bet drinks or dates!
7i gamble very infrequently (once on a trip to vegas and once on a cruise ship where i won $500) and i don't have a problem with it. i think its a fun luxury, if you're responsible.
8My best friend's family owns casinos. None of us gamble.. nor do any of her family. House always wins. Even though its sad to make a living from peoples losses.. its a vile habbit too!
9I am not about gambling at all. Sure I will make the occassional $5 bet with family and friends on stupid things or football games, but nothing over that.
My mom and I went to Las Vegas for my 21st, and she was totally upset that I chose not to gamble. I chose to spend some of it on clothes, shoes, and a nice spa day. I did treat her to all of this stuff too mind you. The only "gambling" I did in Vegas was pull down the free tugs at casinos and went to New York New York to play a few games up top.
10I'll play 20 bucks maybe when we are at Lake Tahoe, but thats it.
11The only thing I do is slots and I only play 2 or 3 times a year. That's normally when my grandmothers are in town.
12I don't play roulette or blackjack because the odds are so heavily weighed in the house's favor.
I play poker, because the house only makes money through rakes. It is technically gambling, but there's also a huge amount of skill involved. Sometimes you'll win through luck. But many times you maximize your wins and minimize your losses through demonstrating your skill and exploiting your opponents' weaknesses.
It's a nice and fun way to supplement my income.
However, gambling is a recognized addiction. It's like alcohol: some people drink a glass of wine a day responsibly while others just can't stop. In the same way, some people set spending limits for themselves and reinforce them, while others will literally bet their house to make back what they've already lost. It depends a lot on the individual.
13I'm not "not ok" with it, it's just not for me. I don't derive much enjoyment out of it. I'd put a $2 bet down on a horse race once in a blue moon, but I'd struggle to part with any more of my cash than that.
Once I was at a charity night at a horse track where all the ladies at the event were given fake money to bet with (the winnings were to be used to in a prize auction later on). I wasn't into it so I put all of my $900 down on a random horse in the very first race, just to be done with it. It came in first at 40 to 1 odds! I used the fake money I won to bid at the prize auction at the end of the night and I scored a gorgeous hand crafted white gold and ruby necklace.
That was enough gambling for me - I got the rush and pay off without spending any money! And I just KNOW I'd never get that lucky if I bet $900 of my own money. Sod's law.
14I'm completely indifferent on it. I have no interest in anything, even slots.
And a lot of stuff is addictive.
15i love the slots...they are addictive. but only when i have the extra cash. (and i usually go home with the same amount i came with). those table games...i have no clue...they're too intimidating!
16Eh, I dunno. I feel like it's easy to lose more than you win. I would most likely not take the chance.
But I've never been to Vegas (yet), so I can't say for sure.
17I love the slot machines and have even downloaded some blackjack games(I got the hang of it). Hey, playing on the slots helped me pay for my tattoo.
18i think its ok if you have a money frame in mind. like 20 bucks. but if im not winning, even before i hit my "20 dollar" mark, I will cash in my chips. gambling and losing is like when you go shopping, spend all this money, and then wonder where it all went. i actually just like casino's for the free drinks. nurse the 20 as long as you can and get drunk
19Im not that big on it...but everytime I go to Vegas I have to play Craps. It is so fun because everyone is into it and cheering you on
20If I'm drinking and playing blackjack I better not have access to my bank accounts b/c it is a deadly combination.
Luckily I only gamble a couple times a year.
So i think gambling is fun when you are winning, but you need really good willpower to walk. Lucky for me my boyfriend acts as my willpower.
21I've only gambled one time, when we were in Vegas on my 21st b-day. But, I broke even, possibly walked with a couple more dollars. I don't frown upon it, because well, it's no more a complete waste of money than buying material crap is. In fact, I think all states should legalize it, because the benefits for the state far outweigh the negatives. Do you have any idea how much money Nevada earns from gambling every year? Trust me, it would pay for any pork projects that the states need. And, it is just sad to arrest people, cuz they have a family poker tournament going, which has happened in the past year.
22I'm not old enough to gamble yet, but I do love playing the lottery and scratcher cards.
23I've never gone gambling and don't have much of an interest either.
24i said other because i dont have a problem with other people gambling, and i love to be along for the ride its actually quite fun and interesting to watch- but i personally don't gamble. im generally not a lucky person and knowing i could have purchased jimmy choos with the money i lost would kill me!
25Every now and again a poker tournament is kinda fun--but like $20 max for me. It seems silly to put up so much money, for complete chance.
Adding to this this guy I was with for almost 2 years had a serious gambling problem. Like--literally blew rent money in one night, not kidding. $1000 online, in one night. That's when you know someone has an issue.
26I don't understand how people get a thrill out of gambling, at least this way! I'd rather keep my money and invest in the stock market, or something that's still a risk but that has some definite thought behind it.
27I've played slots a few times, but when I go to a casino, I spend more time in the walk-through aquarium than gambling. I don't have any 'luck' with it, and end up loosing my cash (I set a limit of about $5, which is about as long as it takes me to get bored with it). That being said, I'm ok with it as long as the person knows their limits, it's just not my thing.
28Gambling is not ok by me. I've seen lives ruined by it and to me it's associated with other disgusting habits
29Whenever I go to Vegas I only bring as much as I'm willing to lose (maybe $500). I love to gamble, but if I lose it all then that means I have to stop. I don't go to the ATM to pull out cash, and try to win it back because there's a chance I might lose that too. I think people who do end up pulling out more cash are those that are totally addicted to gambling, and that's not a place where I want to go.
30I don't enjoy gambling (I get bored), but I don't have a problem with other people doing it. I do believe that it can be addicting, though.
31I'm not much of a gambler, I'd rather hang onto my money, then risk what I have, even if I might win more.
32like any other thing, gambling can be addictive but I look at it this way, 'I can lose this money on a game that really isnt any fun or I can go spend this money on that great desginer handbag that I want'. See, this way it is a win win situation, you get to spend the money, get that rush, and walk out of there looking more stylish that you did on your way in!
33I get bored after 20 minutes.
34i am not OK with it, and my brother is addicted to gambling and wastes so much money
35i dont love it, but im fine with it..
36I love the slot machines! I have only been to a casino twice and then last winter there was a casino on the cruise we went on but i only spent like $60 in there in the whole 10 day cruise. But it was so fun! I would never go and spend alot of money, it would seem like such a waste.
37Gambling is fine for me but I'm just not that into it.
38I'm okay with it. I basically start with a certain amount of money that I'm willing to pay for my entertainment, then I just don't go beyond that point. I like to use the casino's money to play. Basically, pocketing what I started out with and play with their money (money I've won) the rest of the time.
39I dont think about it at all. Its not a part of my life in anyway. I think it is a waste of money if you do it alot but I guess once or twice a year isnt that bad.
40I LOVE gambling! i like to play baccarat & slot machines
