If you haven't already experienced the first rain of the season, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's coming! For some tips on how to cope with a wet and dreary rainy day, click here to read more
- Before you wear your nice leather shoes and handbags, make sure you weather proof and scotchguard anything that could get ruined in the rain
- Buy more than one umbrella. Keep one in your car, one at your office, and one at home
- Invest in a good pair of rain boots. The worst part of the rain is getting the bottom of your pants wet so tuck them into your boots
- Remember to bring everything in from outside such as patio cushions, hammocks, pool toys, etc
- If you have hair that doesn't mesh well with wet weather, get a good rain hat that will keep you dry and looking chic all at the same time
- It's a good idea to make sure your windows are sealed properly before the heavy rain starts so you don't ruin any furniture or grow mold
- Just like the Sunday night blues, it's easy to get a little down in the dumps once the weather turns. Keep your spirits up by embracing the change and try to look forward to the holidays, good movies, cozy sweaters, skiing, nice fires, and soothing soups
For those of you who are already living with the rain, please fill in any blanks below. Stay dry!

Love rain....just dont like driving in it
1We just get lots of snow...
2Blah! I hate rain!
3I live just south of Seattle, we had our first 'rain of the season' weeks ago.
Thank god I invested in cute rain boots, or else I'd be down in the dumps.
4i actually love rain!
5I love it too! It's very calming and soothing, even thunder as long as it isn't that ear-piercing crackling kind of thunder. I don't mind driving in it unless it's just really pouring down and windy.
6Now that I'm in my first solo place, I really need to learn how to not turn into a total freakin scaredy cat during thunderstorms! It's really bad. Our first storm of the season, we lost power and my smoke detector went off periodically for some odd reason? I was clutching the flashlight and acting like a little kid basically, lol.
7I only like the rain when I'm sleeping!
8I love rain. Especially in summer when you just run outside and run around like a kid (still do it)
9I do have a very good stay dry tip..
Stay inside!
i hope we get a good week long drench! we're in an epic drought in ga and might have to start rationing our water!!
10i love them rain toooo! a good excuse to stay couped up with your honey bun all day
11I grew up during a drought in So Cal, and even though I've lived on the east coast for 10 years, I still love it every time it rains. I love the noise of it on the windows and the fact that it gives me an excuse to blow everything off and just cozy up with my honey.
Now I wish it were raining! I think it will come true here later this week.
12I used to love the rain, but since my stupid a$$ car decides it wants to slide all over the road every time I tap the gas, I'm beginning to loathe it.
13Just today I lost my passenger side mirror to the back of a mail truck 'cuz of those stupid anti-lock brakes...AND I was going 20 mph!!!!
14I love rain! This is beginning to be my favorite time of the year...almost 2 months until Christmas!!!
15@ Masqueraded_Angel ... My car always slides in rain if the tires aren't fully inflated. It freaks me out -- I don't want to hydroplane on the freeway!
My music listening goes blues-jazz lounge tunes for awhile when it goes rainy. I've no idea why, but I've always done it. Just yesterday, I downloaded a whole bunch of albums and didn't notice until this morning that they were all like that. It's the lazy, rainy, Sunday-reading kind of music.
I love rainy days. Cuddling up with the boy is super sweet, since it's cold through the night. I love sitting in my car and looking up at the moonroof with all the rain hitting it.
• I make sure my tires stay fully inflated.
• I'm buying new wipers since it's been 2-3 years and these ones aren't working too hot anymore.
• If my brakes are acting funky, I definitely try to get them checked before the rainy season.
That's how I "deal" with the rainy season. :]
16you have no idea how much I LOVE the rain!!!!!
17I DESPISE the rain so I will have to take your advice.
18I hate the rain and I hate cold weather. Today is cold and rainy, it makes me depressed and sleepy.
