I've met guys at bars, at the gym, heck, I've even let my mom set me up on a blind date! I've tried group dating, double dating, and I've heard many success stories about online dating, and even speed dating.
The concept is kind of brilliant actually. You get a chance to meet tons of available bachelors in a short amount of time, and let's face it - if you're not attracted to them in five minutes, the chances for a meaningful relationship are slim to none.
So have you ever tried speed dating? What did you think? Did you go alone or with a group of single friends? Was it a total disaster, or did you find a good match?

Maybe it works, but to me it seems kinda desperate

I would never peg it as desperate, but I don't think it's for me. I'm all for cute-meets! lol
3If I were single, lived in a larger city and REALLY wanted to date someone, I would. I can tell in about 10 minutes whether I like a guy or not, anyway.

7I've done it once, but I have a strong sense of adventure. It was fun. I got to brush up on my flirt skills.
8i tried it. i dont think its desperate. its just fun. i didnt take it too seriously. i hadnt dated int a over three years so it was good way to brush up on the flirting/people skills. i went with a male friend so we gabbed about the other people when we got paired together. we went out to dinner after -- was a fun evening
9I tried it and it was awful! I don't know if it was where I live or just the people who were there that night - but there were very few cute guys and LOTS of women.
10If I did, I would have a friend go too.

12I went speed dating once. It seemed like all the guys I met were tourists on vacation just trying to meet people quickly... not long term dating material at all. The one local guy that I had a match with turned out to be married!!
13OMG I can't believe a married man went speed dating!! LOL I've never tried it, probably never will but I guess you can meet someone that way. It is a good vice to brush upon flirting skills!
14I've never went, and I'm not sure its for me.
15I think it could be fun, and I like the brushing up on flirting and people skills angle.
I met my husband at a Speed Dating event 4 years ago. Another friend of mine met her husband a speed dating event too and I know one other couple in an LTR who met the same way. The event was a lot of fun. I live in California, near SF so there are tons of these events going on all the time. Jinx is right, it's a great way to brush up on people skills and flirting. I liked it better than online dating because you don't waste a lot of time making an email or phone connection only to find out upon meeting that there is zero chemistry.
16Pops, good point. Its weird how people can have such good chemistry on line, and zero in person.
