Chan (pronounced "Shawn") Marshall aka Cat Power is a force of nature. She's a great singer/songwriter in the tradition of Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez and Stevie Nicks. It doesn't hurt that girlfriend's a great beauty with a "colorful" past. But now she's all cleaned up, was chosen by Kaiser Lagerfeld himself to be the face of Chanel, and is performing at the top of her game. Yeah shes great, her voice is very soothing. I really like a couple of her songs. Also she does an awesome cover of oasis.
1Amen! I love her smoky voice, especially on her The Greatest album. Her voice singing Cat Stevens on the "X-mas Morning" advert for A Diamond is Forever was perfect, and the commercial continues to be one of my holiday favourites. She's done so many incredible things with her career, breaking into so many different industries, I'm kind of hoping she manages to cross off "Cast member of SNL" from her list some time soon.
