Although it seems like just yesterday that I told you all my September must haves, I am back with the latest and greatest things to get and do in October!

- Pick up knitting! It's beyond relaxing and once you get the hang of it, you can start knitting gifts for the holidays — there's nothing better than a homemade gift.
- Have a pumpkin carving party. Make a night out of it and serve a fabulous fall colored cocktail.
- Clean out your closet and make room for some new Fall clothes.
- If you have already read Jon Krakauer's Into the Wild, be sure to see Sean Penn's adaptation of the best selling book in theaters now.
- Take a Sunday afternoon to walk your dog, walk with your best friend, or hubby and take in the crisp Fall air. If you're lucky enough to live where the seasons do change, take in the beautiful Fall foliage as well.

ahh i love fall walks. time to grab the boyfriend and go on one. i also desperately need to clean out my closet!
1so, this is a total plug, but i wanted to let anyone reading this know that as you clean out your closets to make room for new fall clothes, i'm hosting a sweater drive over at my blog! i'm collecting any sweaters you don't want anymore, and donating the gently used ones to homeless sheleters and various other charities.
and those pesky moth-eaten sweaters that you just can't bring yourself to add to the landfill? i'm repurposing the yarn in them for all sorts of other hand-knit items to donate as well!
2wow crafty one. look at you
3Knitting is a great fall activity! Starting with quick and easy knits like scarves or armwarmers is a great way to have fun and see results. Nothing inspires more knitting like finishing a project.
Some of the more accessible knitting websites/books are www.knitty.com and the Stitch and b*tch books by Debbie Stoller. Also, check out your local yarn store for experts, and find a knitting group in your area! Knitting groups can be a fun way to keep you on track with knitting, as well as provide you with an opportunity to learn, since there are often a variety of experiences among knitters in a group.
Just some friendly thoughts and advice from a long-time knitter!
4i LOVE knitting. I am working on a baby blanket right now for my friend! hats are so easy and scarfs as well.
5I also knit a little cape for my dog to wear when it gets cold!
