I can only imagine this (presumably drunk) guy getting the above tattoo while obnoxiously announcing, "Eat your heart out Hannibal Lecter!" But dude, this is not the way to impress a chick. I don't care how much it hurt. A woman's Prince Charming will never have the face of Hannibal Lecter inked into his skin. It just defies the laws of common sense and sensibility. You would have been better off getting, oh I don't know, a recliner etched onto your butt. It's still scary, but not in that flesh-eating serial killer sort of way.

I think that the art of tattoo is overshadowed by the conventions of our society. I personally think that this tattoo is a realistic interpretation of the character that Anthony hopkins portrayed. It isnt about shock factor but about the art that is being passed on. Besides, film horror is a huge cult thing that many ppl follow, there are conventions and clubs and such that ppl join and find joy in exchanging thier ideas and memorabilia. Us as sophisticated women might not find this attractive, but to a woman of like minded interests might find this tattoo appealing and artful. I personally dont see the difference between this tattoo and one of someone grandfather. It's immortalized, if only for a lifetime on someones skin. I am sure there is more to the story than what meets the eye. Obviously there is if you look at the other horror tattoos that you graciously gave links to for all to see.
they might be silly but they are all very good!
maybe his boyfriend is a huge fan and he got it out of luv {3
The art is impressive, but not for me!
You have to admit the artwork is fantastic!!
In 10 years, most of those tattoos will be so blown out, they might not even be recognizable. Most people don't seem to realize that tattoos don't stay crisp and neat-looking over time. Most will turn into a gray muck, maybe not in 10 years, but over time.
while i would never get any of these images in my next visit to the tattoo shop, they are beautifully done...and paperkid most people who truly put effort and thought into their tattoos will not let theirs turn into "gray muck." most places, at least the shop where i've had all mine done, do touchups for free.
On the one hand, it's beautifully done. On the other, it's f*cking Hannibal Lecter.
Most of these are beautifully done. Sorry guys, but I have this strange obbsession with Hannibal Lecter, so I think that one is kinda neat. However, I would NEVER EVEN CONTEMPLATE have that tattooed on my body permanantly.
wow...those are some intense tattoos.
I think these are well done. I've seen FAR stupider ones, like a gay merman jerking off with a gold fish up his butthole. True story.
ah! yuck!
I like tattoos but if theres no good meaning to them wats the point to them?I think the tattoos are very good art work but why put that on your arm thats just not cool!
eew
People are different. When most people get a tattoo they get it for themselves and not everyone else in the world. So it might be stupid to you but a lot of times it means something to the person. Other then them just being drunk and regretting it 10 years down the road. Really I kinda think thinking any tattoo is stupid is kinda shallow. It's their body not yours...you shouldn't even care..I know I am sounding like an ass hole but I am just sick of people doing this. They tell me I'm stupid for getting the tattoo I got. When infact it wasn't stupid. It has alot of meaning to me and I don't give a f*ck what anyone else thinks about it. And to tell the truth I doubt these people care either...so why do you?
youre an idiot that tattoo is awesome! and i'm a chick, and a tattoo artist...that's a well done tattoo and talking sh*t about it just shows how little you know
My f*ckin prince charming could have all the above tattoos. My prince charming could have a damn third eye because what ink someone has or what they look like isn't the part of a person that impresses me or not. I'm not shallow, I'd like to think most people aren't, though reading this and most of the comments makes me wonder.....
This is a damn great tattoo, I'd be jealous of the person with it way before I'd think they were stupid.
first off this is an amazing tattoo and coming from someone with horror movie tattoos, ignorance is really the issue here. You are prob one of those people who have a star tattoo or some kind of lower back piece, and think your man looks hot with his tribal sun or armband, ALL is more lame than this. As far as the person commenting about blowouts, that happens with linework, and this piece was probably done with a shader, and will look fine in 10, 20 years.. this is not the 30s, inks have came along way and will stand up alot better than grandads or dads tattoo- this is a awesome piece and the person who has it is very lucky to have a great artist-
