I had a woman write into me asking a very common question: how do you avoid whisker burn from kissing a man with facial hair?

For some tips on how to treat it and prevent it, read more
- Stubble can be painful if it's short, so tell your man to go easy on the kissing if he is in the midst of growing out his beard
- Remember the longer his beard, the softer it gets so hang in there
- Be sure to moisturize. If your face is already dry, his stubble will irritate your skin even more - so stay hydrated and moisturized
- If you do get whisker burn, soothe it with aloe just as you would a sunburn or use a healing ointment like Aquaphor to heal your dry and irritated skin - it's a miracle worker!
- If you're with someone that likes to keep his beard short and scruffy but you can't get used to it, he is going to have to weigh his options!

I get THE worst whisker burn from my man...horrible! I already knew about all these though...I think it's just because of my super sensitive skin...
1I just deal with it. My skin doesn't get really irrited, it is only painful he's kissing my cheek or rubbing up against me or something. But he's so handsome with a little 5 o'clock shadow, I will put up with some whisker burn for it!
2I know, I love the 5 o clock shadow. It really used to suck when I lived with mom and dad and my whole face and neck would be red haha. My mom would get soooo mad!
3I love whisker burn.
4I LOVE my man's scruffy face.....
I love the contrast in texture from my smooth skin
and his rough hair
5When I first starting dating him, it looked like I had a sunburn for a week, but eventually my skin adjusted and it doesn't bother me anymore.
6I totally remember the days of coating my face in concealer to hide the stubble-burn. Never did get used to it, but now that I don't live at home I can either deal with it or tell him he has to shave.
7well when a guy will get scuffy enough for you to feel it, that means he doesnt care as much as he he did it then begginning..... sooo for me that means that means whatever i am doing is right because hes keeping around... personally i LOVE the scruffy face.... lets me know how much i can put up with.
8I had to dump a guy because anytime his lips came in contact with my skin I broke out, and he refused to shave. It was unfortunate, but I like being rash-free.
9I love whisker burn too!!! Try to be kissed in more hidden places....
10ooo Aloe? I never thought of that. I've been using vaseline, but to tell ya the truth, it's not working that great.
11Ha ... I always get whisker burn... dumb sensitive skin
12I never knew what to do about this, I'll totally have to try the aloe vera gel or aquaphor. My man's face gets scruffy only one day after he shaves, it sucks.
13Neosporin for a couple days, then just keep it moisturized and you won't even know it's there. Neosporin for too long will heal the burn but will end up drying out your skin, so make sure you only use it for a 2-3 days.
14The picture with this article is so fun/sexy!!
15The first guy I kissed had a goatee... And we kissed as often as we could... Much to our surprise, I got a burn on my chin. He didn't even know that was possible.
