A little while back, I asked you "Are You Into Tattoos" and I got a great response, so that got me thinking about other things people do to accent and decorate their bodies - piercings.

It astounds me just how many different places people can get pierced. I'm cool with your basic pierce, like ones on your ear lobe, nose, eyebrow or bellybutton, but the more creative ones, like on your lip, tongue, neck, or below the belt make me a little uncomfortable, to be honest. When I see them I ask myself "How do they eat with that thing?" or "How much did that hurt!?"
So what about you? Are you attracted to people with piercings? Do they turn you off? Are you okay with certain piercings but not okay with others? What I want to know is, when it comes to people you date, are you into piercings?

I wouldn't like it if my husband wanted to pierce his ears. Thank goodness he would never want to!
1I've got 8 piercings in my ears, my bottom two holes are stretched to about a 4 gauge tunnel, my nose is pierced, my tongue is pierced, my belly button is pierced...Ive had my lip pierced but have since taken it out... I love the feeling of getting pierced I'm not sure why...I went with my friend to get her clitoral hood pierced because she wanted me to video tape it (lol weird i know)...it was the worst thing I've ever experienced...she shook so much i thought she was going to pass out...that experience convinced me never to do it...however she says taking bumpy car rides has never been more fun! haha
2oh man! i can not even begin to imagine the pain of clitoral hood piercing! just thinking about it makes me want to scream!
3oh, and not in a good way!
4yes and no.. i don't care about ears at all.. and like belly button's and nose is pretty cute.. and a lot of other piercings are also cute.. it just depends on personal style.. n how it looks on them..... if they can pull it off... then why not! its their body... but for me.. i don't have any on my face.. but that's a personal thing!
5I was when I was like 16.
6I got my belly button done when I was 15 and that RIPPED out, and when i was feeling rebellious when iw as 16 I got my tongue done to spite my mom haha.
Then I got my belly button re-done when I was 17.
When i was 18 I took out both my belly button and my tongue, I kind of grew out of them.
Then almost a year ago I did my nose, which I love!
And I have 9 in my ears!
(threi only have 5 (three in one ear, two in the other) but i want more!!! (unfortunaly in the daycare business at my church, they disapprove) but i think they are HOT on guys especially the lip....
7I have five in my ears (three in the left, two in the right) and that's it. I want to pierce my eyebrow but my work does not allow facial piercings in the office so what's the point? If I weren't so scared of all the things I hear about how painful it is or how many infections, I'd get my tongue pierced, too. And I wouldn't mind if hubby got his tongue pierced (for, you know...
) but he's not into it, which is also fine!
8I agree that where it is doesn't necessarily matter but whether that person can pull it off or not.
I have 10 but they are all in my ears. I do want to get my nose pierced but that's it!
9I had a labret piercing for a while. It hurt so bad to get it done and then I couldn't have a lot of meat, any dairy, or spicy food for the next few weeks while it healed. It never rubbed against my gums or damaged my teeth, and it never moved so it was never uncomfortable. My other half at the time used to enjoy flipping my lip so it would make a noise. Other than that I have my ears pierced.
I don't mind piercings. I think there's a line when you can have too many (especially if they're mostly on the face). I do think there's a time in everyone's life when they need to take it out or get a new one. I decided when it was time to do my field placement it was time to say goodbye.
10well personally, i have 11, and only 4 are in my ears
) but right now i have clear jewelry in there and thats as far as ill
go for him... for now.
11I loooooooooooove piercings, and i was getting atleast one a year for a few years. I also find them very attractive on guys, but i guess it really depends on where. my boyfriend has his eyebrow pierced but thats as far as he will go. and he wont stop bugging me to get my septum piercing out (the one that looks like a bull ring
getting pierced is like a high, of course it hurts but then u have this new addition to your body and it just feels great, like getting a new awesome haircut
I've never had a problem with my tongue piercing and I've had it for about 4 years now... it takes some getting used to (you have to learn how to eat all over again) but it never affected my speech or anything...the only thing I didnt like was not being able to drink beer for 2 weeks while it was healing hehe (dont want to get a yeast infection in your mouth! eww!) and it was probably my least painful piercing out of everything I've ever had done
12I don't like piercings at all, on me or my husband. My ears are done but not by my choosing. They're just not for me and I'm not attracted to them either.
13Honestly I don't like piercings much.
If my parents had not had my ears pierced when I was young, I would have never had it done. I still have the single piercings but I rarely wear earrings since I have developed an allergic reaction to everything but gold.
On other people, everytime I see a piercing it weirds me out. I am not attracted to it at all, but that just me! It can look nice on some people, but for me it just does nothing.
14Piercings are not for me, although I have a few. I have/do wear earrings but they are simple and never anything fancy. I like the look of them but can never buy any because I am literally allergic to almost every type of gold/non-gold product out there.
On guys--no thank you. They are not really attractive and I have dated a guy with a tongue ring and it does not help in that area unless they know how to use it!
15i like facial piercings that aren't excessive, but that's about it. not into the other stuff.
16I've had an eyebrow piercing, cartilage, belly button, so I can't say too much. I wonder about some of the placements (OUCH!) but I don't have a problem with any kind of piercings.
My husband has been pierced in the past (bridge of his nose), but that's it!
17I have a few myself and find them to be nice on certain places and on certain people. To each their own, I have never dated anyone with a piercing but I wouldn't count it out!
18I've got 2 holes in each ear, but I rarely ever wear earrings in the second set. I never go out without earrings in my first set. I've thought about getting my nose pierced, but I would need to get my nose fixed before that happened. I've broken it twice and it's now ugly, crooked and has a bump on the side.
I did want my tongue pierced, but I saw a girl just after she had hers pierced and she was in the most pain I've ever seen. Definitely not worth it. Oh, and a guy I knew in High School got his tongue pierced and they hit the major blood vessel in his tongue and he passed out. That scarred me.
19Urgh, just the picture is kind of grossing me out. Not that I'm opposed to other people getting them, but close-ups like that make my needle phobia kick in.
I don't even have pierced ears, and am starting to feel homicidal when my in-laws (who are from a culture where ear piercing is expected for girls, even more than here) nag me about when I'm going to get my daughter's ears pierced. She's not even nine months old! And the correct answer is "Never. If SHE wants them pierced when she's 16, SHE can get it done."
20piercings are not for me. i have none and don't intend to get any.
21All I have are my ears pierced. When I was younger I wanted my tongue done, but my mother wasn't having it. I would still like it, but I feel a little silly getting it at my age when the only people you see in there are about 18.
Not really attracted to guys with piercings though. I'm a peircing snob I guess.
22I have my ears pierced, but I know a lot of people with multiple piercings in various locations! The only piercings I really don't like are the bull ring through the nose and the mole on the lip (I think it's called a Marilyn, but I'm not sure). I just don't think they look good
23I've had my lip pierced and let me tell you - It doesn't hurt at all! no more or less than any other piercing. You can't even feel a difference when it comes to eating and after awhile you just completely forget you even have one!
I miss my lip ring and consider getting it pierced again. Unfortunately my boyfriend is completely disgusted and horrified by them
24I had my ears pierced when I was just 6 mos. I had a second hold put in when I was 15 but they developed keloids and closed up. I took that a sign NOT to pierce anything else.
I don't care for face or ear piercings on men. I'm adverse to any type of jewelery on men aside from a wedding ring and a watch. Maybe ONE bracelet, but that's it.
But what I don't get is when people get these things done and then get mad if you ask about them? You can't have a staples thru your lips and then trip if people get curious.
Same goes for folks with tattoos. This girl in front of me had the most beautiful tattoos of animals on her arms. It was very detailed work. I was about to compliment her but she caught me staring and yelled, "Take a picture, it will last longer!" I snapped back, "If you didn't want me to look at them, they why are your arms exposed?"
Heffa.
25I have no piercings. I have a phobia of needles, and the idea of putting an unnecessary hole in myself gives me the willies.
That being said, I am not opposed to piercings on others. However, I feel that a piercing should augment one's appearance rather than dominate it. If the first thing I think when I see you is, "How do you eat with that thing?" or "Whoa, it looks like you have a giant piece of shrapnel stuck in your ear!" then maybe it's a little much.
To each his own, however. I firmly believe that appearance shouldn't matter, and I don't judge others, pierced or unpierced.
26I have 6 piercings...2 in each ear and one cartlige pierced..and then my belly button...But on a guy id have to say just the ears pierced...and they have to have the right look...
27I love piercings, I have had my ears, 4 holes each, belly button (top and bottom), lip, eyebrow, monroe, and le brett.
I like facial piercings in guys. I don't like ears or anything else on guys though.
28My boyfriend has earrings, and earrings on anyone I'm okay with. I like tattoos as well. Beyond that, I don't find piercings attractive. I think it's kind of gross, personally, and all I can think about is people damaging their nerves, or clogging stuff with mucus, etc. depending on where the piercing is. I keep these opinions to myself though, I have a lot of friends with piercings. They'll probably never see this.
29i had my ears pierced twice, the cartilage twice, a belly button ring and a tongue ring. wow that was 8 lol (or 6 if you count the ears as pairs!) i'm down to just one in each earlobe- one cartilage, and the belly button. i wanted the eyebrow for a while and then i really wanted a nose ring. i also wanted the part of your ear that's not the lobe- like the inside (i don't know the name lol) i'm glad i never got the eyebrow or nose cause i wouldn't want the scar when it came out (though i still like the nose piercing- a tiny diamond i'd get). my one ear lobe ripped down- but not out. so i took it out before it did, but i still have a scar from it. but anyways. as for a boy- i'm not all about it. i mean a tongue ring is fine- but honestly it doesn't make much difference in anything! and some guys it gives a slight lisp to lol. my ex had some kind of down below piercing done after i broke up with him- thank god cause that might have scared me a bit lol
30I don't mean to offend anyone when i say this, and i'll admit that some people can pull off a cool piercing... but in general, I think they tend to look trashy.
31i got my ears pierced when i was 6 years old, but i was allergic to silver. my mother was too cheap to spring for the gold, and they didn't have hypoallergenic at the time (i'm 35 on thursday!). they got infected and closed, and i redid them with 2 in each when i was 16. i got SO sick afterward i was out of school for a week. same thing when i got a tattoo at 21. i took that as a sign i didn't need any more piercings/tattoos.
i never, ever wear earrings.
32i have 6 piercings and am considering more. i like them on guys too, although i agree with those who said they have to be able to pull them off. but then again, i like guys with tattoos so piercings don't bother me!
33i love piercings, i would love to get more. that will happen soon enough. i had my industrial pierced and i loved it unfortunately i nearly ripped it out and let my top hole close. i find guys with piercings incredibly attractive. especially eyebrows and lips.
34I hate piercings! I'm too scared of needles. I havent even got my ears pierced, lol.
35no not at all
36I don't think it matters whether someone has piercings or not. Its 2007. There are still a lot of people out there, mostly older people, who still have a problem with it. Took awhile for my dad to get used to my nose piercing. He hated it at first, now he says its nice, because its small. Its always nice to see someone open their mind some.
37I also like piercings because if you decide you no longer want it, all you have to do is take it out. Unlike a tattoo that is more permanent and if you want to get rid of it then its expensive and more difficult. I still want a tattoo though...
38For women, I think the bellybutton, a small nose stud, and ears are all acceptable. For men, maybe one ear piercing. I'm not a fan of all the extra piercings. They freak me out a little. I used to love piercings but I think my tastes are changing as I get older.
39ooh guys w/ piercings- yum
40but not excessively ofcourse.
I have 9 on my ears n i removed my nose piercing cuz i grew out of it (scarred tho) n i've always been too chicken to get my eyebrow pierced- heard it hurts like hell evern months later
lol i think its funny when people say piercings look trashy...its prejudices like that which have turned the world the way it is...speaking generally, most people get piercings as a form of creatively decorating their bodies. I'm sure if you asked people with facial piercings, the ones you find to be trashy, why they got them, you'd be surprised and interested by their answers. Most people assume that I got my tongue pierced in order to improve my oral sex skills...however, I got it pierced in order to help me quit smoking...which it has. I got my nose pierced the day I got my first job. I got my bellybutton pierced the day i turned 16. I got my lip pierced the day my grandfather died...etc etc...piercings arent necessarily a form of rebellion for everyone.
41I used to have 4 in my ears, a lip piercing, a nose piercing and a navel piercing.
Did they make me happy? Briefly.
They're OK I guess but now I realise how trampy I looked with them. It's a phase and I'm over it. =)
42I used to have my eyebrow and my tongue pierced. I loved them when I got them, but slowly they stopped feeling relevant to who I am, so I took them out. The eyebrow ring went first (I got it my freshman year of high school, and by the time I hit college every 14 year old in the world had one), and then I took my tongue ring out last year. I do, however, still have my industrial in my ear, and I can't see taking that out anytime soon!
43At 15 I have 6 piercings. The normal stud in each ear, with one second as the one on the other ear was pierced terribly! and wonky. So Im waiting for that to heal. I have a plain cartiledge in my left ear, and then my favourite piercing of all, my scaffold in my right ear. I also have my belly button done once. Going to get my second one done in about a month or so. I also want a lip piercing and a septum piercing. And maybe my cheeks. I'm sure Il add more to my list. But I'm deffinately a piercing kind of person. Piercings over tatoos any day.
44I have my ears pierced 3 in each ear. Thats it. Nothing else.I cannot stand people who have thier tongue pierced, and clink it around its annoying. I also think that lip, eyebrow, cheek, nose or whatever area of the face you want is incredibly hideous looking. I work for a clinic and see people in here all the time with infections because of piercings, and i also see people who need alot of dental work done because of tongue piercings, very expensive work.
45I have eight piercings in my ears (six in the lobes and two cartilage) and one in my nostril. It's been a few years since I got anything done, and I'd like some more in my ears (maybe a rook?).
And piercings on other people are definitely a turn on. I'm not too into anything below the neck (bellybutton is just okay - anything involving genitalia is right out). Tongue kind of grosses me out if whoever has it is always playing with it. But pretty much anything else is good. Lip piercings can be especially sexy.
46i have 13 piercings in my ears, and i love each and every one. they all have pretty small earrings and barbells, though, i don't want a bunch of big hoops around/in my ears. i pierced my belly button in high school, but that's long gone. i think i took that out when i was 19. i would pierce my nose, but i don't have the cute nose for it. other than that, i don't want anything else.
47now, i have to list what's in my ears: my left, two studs in my lobe, tragus, rook, two cartilage. my right, two studs in the lobe, industrial barbell, helix, conch, and another upper cartilage.
48i've had just about everything i can get pierced while remaining "subtle". i work with kids, (and went to a private school) so anything obvious is a big no. as of now, i have three holes on each ear lobe, then industrial on the right. on my left i have the typical cartilage piercing, tragus, then a ring through the very top part, its called the daith. none are obnoxious and for the most part are unseen. my hair covers them nicely, but on occasion ill get the "ooo did that hurt" "how did you think of that" etc. on my body i have my tongue that REFUSES to close (i dont wear the jewelry anymore but ive had it since i was 17) and my belly, which ive had since i was 14, and my nose (my fav) since i was 15 which is basically a sparkle. a lot of people dont know i have it done. and call me gross, but i want nipples! my bf says no hahaha but its one of the last non visible piercings i can get! the only reason i wont is the risk to lose feeling.
49Oh yess I like piercings. And especially on men. I have seven piercings myself, and my boyfriend has his ears gauged to two inches, his labret, pout, nose, septum pieced, and snakebites. People think it's weird I'm attracted to that, but it's something about punctured skin and metal that really turns me on.
