I didn't know people really still said "getting tail" as a term for bagging chicks. (OK, I guess there's really no way of saying that without sounding like a Neanderthal.)
Speaking of Neanderthals, the irony is not lost on me that the tagline for this Muscle Milk ad is "Drink. Evolve."

This ad is dumb. It makes me think of 1950's housewife ad's where the woman in the ad is beside herself because a new brand of detergent came out. It is just as sexist.
1and the man hating continues on Tressugar. Cant an ad be tongue in cheek? and not considered Dbag?
2I second that, CaterpillarGirl
3I actually like the ad. I think its pretty funny. Lighten up Tres
4How is this ad tongue in cheek? I think of the Dos Equis ads with the most Interesting Man in the World as witty, sly, and ironic. This seems pretty straight on.
5Interesting that calling women, essentially, pieces of ass (tail) is OK, and inviting other men to do so is OK. But a woman calling the marketers on their promotion of sexism? Man-hating. I'm not sure when accepting sexism = having a sense of humor. I guess I have a different sense of humor. Also? Douchebag-hating is not the same as man-hating, unless you think all men are douchebags, which I do not.
6I agree with Tres. IMO this kind of advertising is annoying (aka axe commercials).
7Quite funny actually. And I drink muscle milk myself as well from time to time after my workouts....don't see the big deal?
8Its not sexism, its humor. is it your kind of humor? NO, but not all women think its sexist.
alot of us have bigger fish to fry than silly advertisements.
9LOL. I think the ad is funny. It's playing on a man's desire to be a stud. It's manipulative. Also, the name of the product -- Muscle Milk?? It's milk for pete's sake, a product for children, too.
The whole marketing strategy is laughable.
10I stand corrected, well said Tres.
11What's sad is that marketers and advertisers think that so many men are completely socially inept, desperate to meet women and only care about their own attractiveness to the opposite sex, which creates the perfect vacuum to exploit their insecurities with strategically placed products that increase their own desirability. Oh wait, that's how the ad agencies have been treating women for decades, so it's all good.
12Leslie, very good point. These kinds of ads are sexist toward men, too, and perpetuate this idea that they're all just a bunch of jerks whose only aim in life is "getting tail." Lame-o. And if I were a guy, I would feel insulted that this is how I'm addressed by advertisers.
13Rock on Tres!
14After watching so many episodes of "Target Women" on Current, I've been incredibly critical of most marketing and advertising towards women. But when I used the same critical look at ads targeting men, it wasn't that much better.
15Kudos to the advertising agency who is playing on these men's insecurities.
Who says their target market is the well-built(or not well built) confident guy who isn't desperate for a woman.
No, their target market is the exact opposite. And they know how to work that angle.
16Reminds me of "My New Haircut" from YouTube! ... MUSCLE MILK! PROTEEEEINN! HGH!!
17hahhahaha that's what i thought runningesq.
JAGERBOMBS JAGERBOMBS JAGERBOMBS
18Ha, and I drink Muscle Milk after my workouts. I haven't gotten any tail yet?
19Get a sense of humor!! The Ad's are serving their very purpose - to get women like youself responding about them!
20Anonymous #20 - hah i think the point of the ad is to get people to buy the drink... not to get women wound up... either way... i can see how someone would find this kind of offensive... but... as a chick... i can say i get man tail too... so whatevs.
