I am a ridiculous romantic, and although I've fallen in love with people I didn't initially feel more than passing interest in, I've also fallen head over heels in love with people the first time I set eyes on them. (So sue me. I'm a Leo.)

Some people would probably say that love at first sight is an absurd idea, but sometimes, you "just know," not after being with someone for a while, but as they catch your eye on the subway, at a cafe, or at the laundromat.
Do you believe in love at first sight? Has it ever happened to you?

Gorgeous
I guess it can happen.
1I had to learn to love everyone ive dated,
But its happened to friends, and they are all still together after 6 months +
Screw me! I fell in love with Barack Obama at the first sight and knew then and there that THIS man would change the world and assure in peace on earth. He is THE man above color, country or religion he is Obama who works for the betterment of humanity and environment.
2I believe in infatuation at first sight.
3I'm with Pistil.
4I'm also with Pistil.
565% said yes?! how can you love someone if you've never spoken to them? you don't know anything about them except how hot they are? i think people can certainly be attracted at first sight... and for some people that attraction leads to a relationship which eventually turns into love - but that does not mean you loved them when you first saw them. that's just silly!
6i saw my boyfriend and didn't get the love at first sight thing right away (but i also thought, at the time, that he was way out of my league) and then as soon as we spoke (like 2 hours later) i knew it was the real deal...he did too...and we've been together ever since...i think you do have to talk to someone to really get the feeling
7I agree with previous posts, *lust* at first sight, not love.
8Lust at first sight, sure. Love? You need more than a look for that.
9I knew that I would be with my now ex-bf the second I saw him. Literally told my friends that he was it. There was just this instant spark that I have never had with anyone else ever. We together for 3 years.
10Screw love at first sight! I *love* Before Sunset!
11I also agree with Pistil. I beleive in love at first conversation, lust at first sight.
12I didn't use to believe it was possible, more like lust at first sight. However, I met my boyfriend through online dating, and when I saw him drive up to the restaurant the first time we met, something just clicked and I knew that he would be the one for me.
13I'm a Capricorn and I've been told that we have to make our minds fall in love first before our hearts and that is very true for me. I meet guys and can be attracted to them, but it takes a while before I can say I'm in love. Maybe it depends on who you are or maybe I just haven't met "the one" yet?
14It's never happened to me or anyone I know, but I said yes anyway because I'm a romantic
15I agree with #6 completely!
16never had that love at first sight moment in my life - but i'm open to it... however there was a moment once when after knowing the person for 2 years and being just friends, i felt like cupid hit me with an arrow - and when i opened the door -it did feel like love at first sight.
17all of a sudden i realized just how i felt for him.
I fell in love with my boyfriend at first "type". We were 5000 miles apart, yet that first chat said everything I needed to know. The first sight was just confirmation (wow, you're that funny, and that hot too? REALLY?)
I was 100% sure he was the guy for me, and since 4 years later we're still going strong, I guess I was right.
18Every time. I read in Oprah (yeah, I read Oprah) that it only takes 3 minutes of seeing and talking to someone to decide how attracted you are and set the groundwork for falling in love — that's basically first sight, right? I can't explain it, but I'm in the "when you know, you know" camp.
19This makes me miss my bf.
I voted yes because it sounds so romantic but I know that it's lust
at first site not love. For me love takes time and I have to tell my brain to stop thinking and just allow me to fall in love. Love frightens me and I think too much. Stupid me didn't even
realize I was into my bf until someone else pointed it out! After that I just knew he was the one.
20Haha, genesis, that's why I picked yes too. Like others said, it's not love. It's lust that might lead to love. And it's nice to say it was love at first sight later on in the relationship
21I believe in the infatuation part for sure, also love at first sight has to happen to some people instantly. I had something similar, when I was around 14 I had a love at first sight moment with my family friend's son, and though it's been 9 years since I saw him..it's silly but after all this time I still think about him now and then. I'm 23, of all the guys in my life I've actually known and been around, this guy stands out. I never tell anyone this because it's embarrassing for me, but I have a feeling something will happen in the future.I'm kind of a romantic but at the same time I try to tell myself to snap out of it, but I just can't ha.
22*with a family friend's..
23My boyfriend and I have been together for a year and we both saw each other the same day and both thought the same thing. I totally believe it love at first sight.
24No, totally effing crock. There is lust at first sight, sure. But love? Not possible. You don't even know the person!!!
25yes i do believe in love at first sight.
26I believe in making connections on a first encounter. I met by current bf randomly a few years ago and we've been dating for over 4 years. I wouldn't say I fell in love with him at that moment, but there was definitely something there
Oh, and this post reminded me that
I still have to finish watching Before Sunrise.
27no. but i don't even believe in love period.
28Not one bit.
29I am hesitant to say I don't believe in it, because who I am to say? But in my experience, it hasn't proven realistic.
30yes it can happen...if you have true feelings in your heart,,
