The more I hear about Richard Heene, father of Balloon Boy, the more I'm frightened by the man. Before he and his family took over the media yesterday, Richard was busy starring in videos in which he comes off as hostile and misogynistic.
Here are my top five reasons this man is a jerk:
- It's likely that he tricked the media and government officials into thinking his 6-year-old son Falcon was flying away in a balloon. News just broke that Richard first called the local TV station to report that Falcon took off, while his wife called 911 and the FAA. His likely hoax cost taxpayers a lot of money.
- On an episode of Wife Swap, Richard made a "bitchmeter" for his swapped wife and said: "You're a man's nightmare. I'm so glad my wife was born in Japan."
- He's videotaped himself ranting about how "ugly chicks need makeup to look like hot chicks." (I've included the video above. It's scary.)
- He had his kids star in a homemade rap video about the "pussification" of America. In a "pussified" world, "the females are typically referred to as 'soccer moms' while the males are referred to as 'pussies.' " Huh?
- He makes horribly misogynistic YouTube videos, including one where he wonders whether Hillary Clinton is a reptile and another where he discusses whether Britney Spears's breasts are real.
If this family truly orchestrated the balloon fiasco for publicity, then Richard must not be surprised that the Internet is digging up countless examples of his douchiness. Perhaps that's what he wanted to happen.

1Well, truthfully, I identify with him. That's why I don't use any make-up. And I'm a woman. My husband LOVES that about me. He's very affectionate, and he's glad there's no cosmetics on my face.
However, with that said, I agree with Running. He and his wife should be charged for the gov't resources. I would also like to see some jail time thrown in.

8When I saw his interview on Larry Kin last night he gave me the impression of being an aggressive man. His wife seems as being submissive,and if you notice he did most of the talking. I agree with the whole make-up thing, yes its kind of fake, but some woman like it, its their business.

11The first thing that law enforcement should have done was do a full search of the property, it was definitely a hoax.
12I read just a few minutes ago, that someone (most likely this d-bag's wife) has called 911 before from the house (the operator only heard Richard Heene yelling in the background before it was hung up).
The cops showed up at the door and saw that she's got a mark on her cheek and broken blood vessels in her left eye.
He said he was just yelling at the children because it was over their bedtime and she claimed she was ok so the cops had to let the thing go despite their initial suspicion.
I watched a clip on him on 'Wife Swap,' and boy, I saw him throw something (either something in a glass/liquid form or some solid stuff) at his 'temporary wife' in anger. He's a d-bag.
I don't know though if the whole thing was a hoax or not, just because I think he's a d-bag, it doesn't mean that it's not a mistake. As for the kid saying something about 'for a show,' I know my son has said the weirdest thing (depending the situation, like if he's been listening to people saying something, he'll repeat that) and yes my son has lied. Bold-faced lie, and looked very convincing too while doing it. It's odd because no one taught him to do it.
13Just want to clarify, just because I think he's a d-bag and attention seeker, it doesn't mean that they (the family/mom-dad) didn't make a real mistake of actually, sincerely thinking that their son was in that balloon.
14Although it is unusual that one of the outlets he called (before 911) is a local tv station.
I thought him still trying to talk and interview while his son is puking in his lap was also way classy. Ann Curry cut the interview because the kid was sick and he hardly seemed phase.
15What a loser! No wonder TLC doesnt want to give him a reality show. The only reality is, he sucks, and no one wants to hear him. Im with Diamond, why would you make your child sit through an interview, when he is obviously very sick!!! The poor kid is sitting there puking on live tv!!

22I heard about this but I didn't know what my friends were talking about and then I realized I'd seen this episode of Wife Swap and what had happened. He is so creepy! I hate reality shows but I admit I saw a mini marathon of this show and that's how I saw them. Right away he strikes me as off his rocker and a misogynst.
His kids should be taken away from him. I'm glad that he has been exposed.
