Frat boys have been called pigs before, but now they might be responsible for spreading swine flu. College partiers are being warned that they can catch H1N1 from beer pong.
Administrators from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute released this statement after a student contracted swine flu from the classic drinking game:
"While it might seem fun over the weekend, it will not be enjoyable when you and your friends are sick and missing class or midterm examinations."
Wait. Doesn't missing midterms sound more enjoyable than taking them?
I've always been wary of beer pong's potential health risks, so here's one more excuse to stay away from beer cups with dirty ping pong balls floating in them. Cheers!

my dad went to RPI, and one of my good friends did, and he thinks this article is HILARIOUS. especially considering the girl to guy ratio up there, nobody's going to stop drinking beer.
1The reason isn't because they are drinking... it is because when you play beer pong, generally the SAME cups stay the whole night and everyone drinks out of those cups. Nast
2Yeah beer pong just seems like a very unsanitary idea in general. ick.
3All the Greeks at my school have avoided playing beer pong this semester for this very reason. Hopefully it's kept us all a little bit healthier!
4wowww. we just play with water cups, and you have a side beer to drink. therefore no germs being shared! i doubt ppl would give up bp for anything...
5and also, who actually plays beer pong at frat houses? maybe i just go to a bigger school, but all the frat parties are BIG parties with dj and music and dancing. Beer pong is for chilling with friends or pregaming sort of thing...
6I play beer pong with my small group of friends and we always use the same cups all night over and over and over without even rinsing them. It's gross, but we're all "family". I wouldn't do the same thing with strangers ever! Yuck!
7Oh no. Its another 911. My God. How horrible. Our great american past time Pong is spreading the flu. What will become of us?
8I'm sure the drunken orgies that follow a game o'pong contribute nothing to spread of germs...
