It's only the third season of Gossip Girl and we're seeing Lily wed for the second time — nevermind her countless marriages before the show! When the last-minute wedding fails to materialize, Lily and Rufus make another snap decision to get married that night in the Humphreys' Brooklyn loft with Sonic Youth as the wedding band (weird!).

I like the idea of a spontaneous wedding, especially when you've had an on-off relationship for 20 years, but I'm not sure I could actually go through with it. Do you think you could tie the knot on the spot without worrying about loose strings?

sounds like a dream to me.
1haha, it's split exactly 50/50! For me, no. I LOVED planning my wedding.
2no, i couldn't do it! it'd be fun to attend a last minute wedding though!!
3don't get me wrong... I've worked in the wedding industry for years.... I would LOVE a huge celebration and likely will have one because my family is so huge (my mom is one of 13...lots of cousins etc). but there is something so romantic and appealing about just slipping away and taking your vows.
4I would LOVE to! My extended family is always feuding and it would be so nice not to have to deal with all the drama! My bf would never go for it though.
5I eloped and don't regret it all. We saved all our money for our honeymoon =)
6do think it is romantic and probably a rush... but I loved my big wedding, whole family there, friends, etc.
7No. Way. Ever!
My family would kill me, I'm the oldest grandchild and I have 10 direct uncles and aunts - all of them are waiting for that day (some of my aunts are waiting for it more than I am). While it maybe romantic, in my situation I would feel very selfish.
8I would love a spontaneous wedding! I'm pretty much planning to elope anyway, so I can have my dream small wedding, and then a huge bash at home for everyone where I don't have to worry about napkins or whether to put bob next to sally.
9I think itd be awesome! In theory though...Unfortunately there are too many people in my family and my fiance's family that would be really hurt so I dont think it could happen! But ugh planning a wedding is already such a headache and its over a year away!!
10I said no, but I would do it if I were engaged for a while and considering a large classic wedding, but just got tired of all the hoopla involved in planning/family stress... I couldn't just randomly get married to someone without discussing MARRIAGE first though.
11im a huge fan of a small wedding, on the beach with just my closest loved ones
12We had an 18-month engagement because we had to give folks time to attend a destination wedding. In that time it became painfully obvious how others were trying to make our wedding about them. Then we had time to let them ground back to reality and not show up if they didn't want to. I think a last minute event would have kept folks from trying to hijack our celebration.
13I wish I were good at being spontaneous, but I'm totally not.
14We did. Got engaged in September, did nothing to plan a wedding until after July 4th, got married July 25th. Very fun!
15i want a grand wedding, but have a feeling we won't be able to afford it. i don't want to have an average wedding, so my motto is - if you can't pay for it, don't do it at all. make it small and last minute is perfect for it.
