Americans have no concept of the dynamics at play in Afghanistan, with the rival warlords supplying the drug trade. They are amazingly complex. That's why I have to ask what the frak we are doing there at this point! We spend 60 billion a year in Afghanistan, and 2 billion in Pakistan. Al Qaeda is in Pakistan, not Afghanistan.
I totally disagree with Obama committing us to this further. The Soviet Union couldn't conquer this country, and tried repeatedly for decades. There is no use in being in a war just because you are too proud to admit you made a mistake.
1I realize War is certainly not conducive to peace however most of us agreed long ago even before the presidential campaign began that the Afghanistan War was the legitimate War and where we needed to focus our troops. The President is incrementally drawing down our troops in Iraq as the situation allows it self so IMO we're moving in the right direction over all.
I'm all for any law that makes a Paparazzi's job more civilized. Making it easier to sue outlets who use very intrusive photos is a start but I was hopping for a law that says that have to stand back at least 10ft from their subject at all times.
Madoff in a brawl now that's hilarious.
2LOL *hoping not hopping.
3It'll be 10 years in Afghanistan soon at this rate and what has really been achieved? women are still chattels, it's still dangerous there, terrorists still abound and elections are still not free and fair. Le me know when it's actually won.
4Even the local warlords are saying that we need to either butch up or go home.
