"I was against the constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage nation-wide, and I still think that the American people should be able to play this out in debates. But me, Bill Clinton personally, I changed my position. I am no longer opposed to that. I think if people want to make commitments that last a lifetime, they ought to be able to do it."
— Former President Bill Clinton says he now supports marriage equality. Maybe gay-marriage supporter Brad Pitt chatted with Bill about the subject when they met at the Clinton Global Initiative this week.

now, remaining FAITHFUL in your life long commitment, that's another story
1haha mama.
Glad to see that Billy is seeing the light finally.
2See? You CAN teach an old dog new tricks!
3Hmm...I want homosexuals in committed relationships to have the perks of being in that committed relationship (like Clinton knows what it means to commit)....but I feel like it's different than marriage.
4Oh, have mercy! It's W.C. Fields!!!
5I think he was trying to make a joke. He said that he was against the amendment BANNING gay marriage, but then said that if people want to make a commitment that lasts a lifetime, then they should. It sounded to me like wordplay a little bit.
6Bill and his word play. Ahh! But still, I liked him though.
If he changes his stand, he can openly say it now that he's not president. I mean, it's tougher when you're in office and you're basically trying to get elected or re-elected to stand for gay marriage, because it's still such a much debated issue, and may cost votes, or etc...
7It did seem contradictory, didn't it? Ah well, at least he's on the same side of things as me now.
