It's a sad day in America. The Weekly World News, reliable for its surreal and barely-tethered-to-reality news stories, is folding after being around since the late 80's. Created as a placeholder for stories The National Enquirer found too dubious (!) to print, WWN boasted writers who had left The New York Times and The Philadelphia Inquirer for the chance to write about "events that seemed to occur in a parallel universe...where pop culture mixed with urban legends, conspiracy theories and hallucinations," as one writer put it so eloquently. We'll miss you crazies--you live on in spirit in The Onion and Fark. So what's the best "Weekly World News" headline?

DAY Birger et Mikkelsen
MICKEY MOUSE GAVE ME SCABIES!!!!
1(Headline on a story about how Disneyland Employees got crabs from the unsanitary uniform panties they were forced to wear with their costumes.)
Bat child found in cave! I clearly remember that drawing on the cover
2Dead Rock Stars Return on Ghost Plane! Or, Elvis Lives, with a picture of a really fat Elvis pumping gas.
3I remember buying these in 7-11 in the early morning junk food runs during parties, then ranting about conspiracy theories for the rest of the night.
Bat child! That's just classic!
4Bat Child! Who doesn't remember that? Just too awesome for words.
5Lol! These are hilarious!
6I liked the Florida Man Screams From The Grave: My Brain Is Missing! one. I think I've seen the Bat Child one though.
