2i want to get something, but dont want to get something too extravagant incase he doesn't and then he feels bad (which he would if i went overboard)
i ended up with a card and some valentines jelly bellies, and now what? uhhhhhh i hate this
I know that this isn't romantic but last year I bought my boyfriend a Carwash Kit. He loooooooooooooooooooooooves his car and washes it a lot in the summer and will bring it to car shows and race it at the track. I remembered that last time he washed it, his rags were all holey and he went on a rant about this car wax that is amazing but expensive.
So, I went to a few car places and bought him a new washing mitt, shammy driers, carnuba wax (the good stuff he wanted), tire cleaner, carwash soap and a few other things. I made sure that it was all high quality things. I stuck it all in a bag and that was his gift!
He really liked it and used everything! It may not be romantic but definitely practical and was for something that meant a lot to him.
3I've done all of these! Well, not BBQ sauce... but I have bought him food!
4My current boyfriend and I are in an LDR temporarily (overseas, too! argh) so we sent each other packages - I sent him a gift certificate to his favorite London cheese shop since I couldn't be there to buy it myself, and a package of assorted odds and ends, a combination of handmade card and knitted gifts, a CD and lots of tacky American Valentine's candy!
I like the Beer Club idea though - my dad loves that - we get him a membership every year at Christmas.

6I really like the leather valet thing so I went to look at it. The color I would pick, espresso, doesn't ship until April 7. ... so maybe a birthday gift lol
7I got my guy a subscription to Sports Illustrated - just in time for the swimsuit issue!
8I'm getting my guy a gift card to his favorite game store so that he can buy Street Fighter IV when it comes out on the 17th. I'm also making him a pampering basket with massage oils and "coupons" for massages and backrubs from me, and scented candles and oils (he loves those). And making him breakfast in bed. He'll feel spoiled, but its not really horribly expensive for me!
