Attention spooners! It is now officially bad for your health to share your bed. According to British experts, when you share a bed with your partner and one of you moves in your sleep, there is a 50 percent chance that you will disturb the other person's sleep. And what happens when you don't get good sleep? Depression, heart disease, strokes, traffic accidents, lower productivity, and, perhaps, divorce!
Of course, one doctor (who sleeps in a different room than his wife) says if you sleep well together, there's no need to change. And I say — if you're used to sleeping with someone, the change might actually disturb your sleep too.
Does this news give you a welcome excuse to start sleeping in separate beds, or do you need the option to cuddle all night long?

i prefer to sleep with him, but admit i do get a pretty good sleep when i sleep away from him because he's very snuggly and takes up a lot of the bed
1I like either. We've recently gotten a new mattress and it's very firm so now when we move around in our sleep the other one doesn't feel it. Good lord, our other mattress was awful for that. But hubby still snores now and then. So, while I do enjoy sleeping with hubby, I often welcome the times he has to go out of town for business so I can have the bed to myself.
2Although we do sleep well in the same bed, one of the highlights of a vacation is getting my own bed at the hotel.
3I like either, but obviously since we're married I'd rather him be in the bed with me. Though, I hate it when he touches me at night, ha!
4My husband has changed me a good deal. I damn near feel co-dependent when at home because I go to sleep better when he is next to me. I have to switch into "work mode" when I travel away from him so I don't get sad that he is not there when it is bed time.
5Sorry but this is a little ridiculous. I'm not going to die young because I share a bed with someone. People have been sharing beds since, oh I don't know, the beginning of time? lol. I used to fall asleep with my ex's arm around me and I slept just fine & he never woke me when he moved. To be honest, now that I'm single I don't mind sleeping alone. But if I were in a relationship and had to choose, I would say definitely share the bed!
6I cannot go to sleep without my husband in bed with me. It just doesn't feel right.
7I like to sleep with my bf. I fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly when he's in my bed.
8I prefer to sleep with my husband, because I feel safer and more comfortable with him in the bed with me. But I also sleep pretty well alone (especially in the warmer months, because he's a cuddler and I just can't handle the body heat haha).
9i wish i had my own place so i can sleep with my partner!
10We're finding our partners online, scheduling "private time" and sex, and now we're being told to reconsider sleeping in the same bed. I fear a few years from now, we'll see a study telling us, "human beings should no longer form romantic couples and mate." Bad for the heart, I reckon.
11I sleep great no matter what. I do sleep better once he gets up and I can sprawl out all over. But I don't get woken up by him.
12I prefer to sleep by myself. My husband says I toss a lot in my sleep and complains that I wake him up constantly. We sleep together every night and I find that I always get pushed to the side so I have only like 2.5 feet of our king mattress and am dangling on the side. It doesn't help that my two dogs come up on the bed in the middle of the night and prefer to sleep on my legs.
Also, I prefer to sleep in odd positions and can't just lay on my back or belly, so the more space, the easier for me to sleep.
13I like both. If I can't sleep, it's usually due to a reason unrelated to who is in the bed.
14My boyfriend and I sleep together every night - in a college dorm room twin bed!!! As much as I wish we had a bigger bed (last semester he had no roommate so we had two twins pushed together into one big giant california king), I wouldn't trade sleeping with him for anything. I sleep much better with him then alone.
15i like both. But I would miss him if he was gone.
16I usually don't sleep as well when I'm sharing a bed with a boyfriend, but I like cuddling before falling asleep and waking up with someone else there.
17I hate sleeping alone unless I'm absolutely stuffed at the end of the day. When I'm pooped I just want to fall down and pass out for a good 9 hours, and not have to worry about the boy pinching the blankets.
Usually it's good but he always wakes up when I have to get up to hit the loo or get something to drink.
18My boyfriend and I both move a lot in our sleep, so when I'd sleep over at his house and we'd share his hole-filed and barely inflated air mattress and neither of us got any sleep since one person rolling would wake the other. Then we started sleeping just on the floor and slept through the night (however, back pain wasn't that fun). The night we both slept in a hotel after a concert was an amazing night of sleep, so I'm not too worried about missing out on sleep when we get our apartment and share a bed
