When Muntadhar al-Zaidi, the man who threw his shoes at George. W. Bush, is released from prison next Monday, he will receive a hero's welcome. The Iraqi journalist has already fielded countless marriage proposals while hanging out in his jail cell. An Iraqi in Morocco offered to send his daughter and women in Saudi Arabia are asking for Zaidi's hand in marriage. One family even said, "We are willing to present him with a bride loaded with gold."
Zaidi's ballsy shoe toss is attracting women — and a lot of swag! His former boss built him a four-bedroom house. In addition, he'll have a new car waiting for him along with thousands of dollars, donated to help pay off his legal bills.
Do you think the Iraqi shoe thrower deserves all the love?

it's very strange - people do weird stuff in the States like this all the time and no one showers them with love, affection, and cash money!
1Skigurl is totally right. In the states if someone did this to a wordly-hated figure they would get cheers of praise, but they would be fired. It's cool and refreshing, but it's also extremely unprofessional. I say Cheers to the dude, but if I were his boss I would have to fire him. Out of duty of my position.
2Awesome.
3I think this is despicable!!!
4But they aren't in the US! That is the whole idea.
5Think if an american reporter threw a shoe at Osama bin Laden. Granted that is a bit of an extreme comparison, but we aren't exactly well liked there.
^ Rather, George Bush isn't very well liked there.
6It's interesting to say the least. This says a lot for how all these people showering the "shoe thrower" with gifts feel about the man the shoe was thrown at.
7Haha i think its hilarious, i grew up having shoes thrown at me by my aunts and other family members, its common in Palestine too, seen in movies like Zohan. Who knew throwing shoes could get you so much though?!
8One of my friends who is Muslim wrote a great novel that features her Muslim family throwing shoes at each other. It's pretty darn funny in the context of her book. And burotukunam, I loved its use in Dont' Mess with the Zohan, too!
9Interesting, sure, but the idea of giving away women as rewards turns my stomach.
10the fact that those who adore him are giving their daughters away like property show just how backwards they are. I wouldn't want cash money or hoes from the likes of them.
11i knew this would happen! he deserves the love! do you know what bush has done, i would have thrown a rock, he got off with the shoes
