So it might take more than two people to make up a prostitution ring, but a mother and daughter in Philadelphia gave it their best shot. With the help of Craigslist, Traci Young, 39, and her daughter Tami Smith, 22, used Craigslist to sell themselves for sex online.
The pair advertised their services as a "mother and daughter tag team." The original offer came with a reasonable price tag: $200 to have sex with mother and daughter at the same time. They were caught when they arranged a meeting with an undercover police officer.
The mother, Traci, was convicted yesterday of setting up the prostitution operation, and daughter Tami has already been convicted and sentenced. Back when she was first arrested, Traci said, "It's a messed up world out there and we have to do this just to get by."

Since when is that "the only thing" you can do to support yourself. I think it's probably the easiest thing, compared to, you know, having a boss, paying taxes, having to sit in traffic, deal with customers...
4I hate the excuse "I had no choice". Like really? I sympathize with them for feeling like they have no options but there is! You just have to keep looking for a job. And is there no family that will support them until they do get a job? Friends even?
5i think prostitution should be legalized and regulated, so that women aren't exploited and that spread of sexually transmitted infections is slowed. the thing that really bothers me about this story is that they only charged $200 for having sex with 2 people. it's gross that it was mother and daughter, but i can't help thinking they should've charged at least $200 EACH.
6Sloane I actually thought the same thing. That would only be $100 each. They would have to do this on a fairly regular basis to actually make a living. Crazy.
