Do you ever see couples walking down the street dressed in his and her matching outfits? I went to lunch not that long ago with one of my best friends and her new boyfriend. They showed up at the restaurante wearing matching orange sweaters and blue jeans, looking like they just walked off the cover of a J.Crew catalog. I got a good chuckle out of it, and they did look pretty adorable, but what I want to know is, do you think it's a do or a don't to dress matchy matchy with your significant other?

i think its kinda cute!!! i mean not to dress EXACTLY the same.. but to have the same style... i have done it before tho with my boyfriend... not even knowing it! i just showed up and we were both wearing the same color shirt n jeans!
1If you look like you shop at the same store it's no big deal. It's the people who wear matching tracksuits and stuff that need help.
2See, I have a uniform during the summer of wearing jeans and solid-colored tank tops. And my husband usually likes tshirts with jeans...so sometimes we'll both wear jeans and black shirts, but at least his usually has some sort of design on it. So it's not all that bad...
3I only think it's cute for old couples who wear the same rain coat and ride on the same kind of bike. But for anyone under 65: cheesy.
4We do it on accident sometimes. We'll both get ready to go out and we'll both be in khakis and a black shirt or something. One of us ALWAYS changes though!
5I think it's one thing when you accidentally end up dressing like your partner-it can be cute-but purposely dressing identical...that is only acceptable for sisters!
6If my husband and I are going somewhere nice, I like to coordinate colors and look like we belong together, but never matching outfits.
7I think its ok every once in a while... like every 10 years. LOL.
Once or maybe
twice it can be fun to be cheesy just for the heck of it. Usually it is just weird though and kind of seems like a middle school dating thing. Ohh and I agree with jhuck, if you look like you
shop at the same store thats fine and makes sense that you would be attracted to someone with the same style as you.
8Ohh I agree with Victoria225 also. My bf and I make sure we match when we dress up to go somewhere nice. Match, as in the colors look nice together.
9Not ok. Not ever.
10It's always nice to compliment e/o but serious Twinkies are a no-no! xo
11I think ts so cheesy. When couples match on purpose the guy has the tortured look on his face
12Wearing the same outfit is always ridiculous-looking unless you're competing on World Series of Pop Culture.
Coordinating colors for a specific event? Preferable, in my opinion. I don't want to go to my 10th anniversary dinner wearing a nice green dress and have my husband in an orange sweatshirt and jeans.
13If you like it then it's cute, but if you don't, then just don't do it. I don't mind. I at least like to match to wear colors that go well together.
14My BF and I will sometimes match when we get really dresed up. He will wear a tie to match my dress. I thik it's adorable, and then we don't clash! Love it!
15I consider a tie matching the outfit to be coordinating rather than matching.
And a
good thing.
16just as long as its a once-in-a-while thing. Then its cute!
17I think it's cute. And it definitely tells me that the two people are happy together and want the world to see them as a couple. My fiance and I do it accidentally sometimes, but in the winter he has two identical jackets that are really warm so I often wear one and he'll wear the other. We'll both have on jeans and we both have the same Polo hiking shoes, so we'll look identical.
18if i dressed like my boyfriend i'd have to wear oversized band hoodies and massive timberland boots... as hunky as he looks in them.. no thanks!
19I don't plan to match my husband, but sometimes if he gets dressed after me he will pick out the same color. It doesn't bother me at all.
My brother-in-law and sister-in-law like to match colors alot.
Who knows....maybe it is the brothers that like to copy us girls.
20100% cheesy!!
21I'm one for maintaining your individuality. If you happen to have the exact taste and your outfits happen to match, whatever. If you used to wear head to toe J Crew and he used to be rocker chic, there's no reason why either of you should change.
22Exact matches is a no, no... but nothing wrong with color coordinating.
23terrible.
24No......other than the usual color coordinating for special occassions my taste in fashion does not coincide with my husband's.
25My husband and I have matching pajama-bottoms, does that count? Lol...and he has this fantastic sweatshirt with a faux fur lining that I loved so much he bought me my own one. So I suppose on occasion we dress the same.
26haha, well, i used to think no, except for special occassions, like going to a sports game (i see quite a few matching redskins shirts and blue jeans up here sometimes) but, if it isn't on purpose, how much cuter! on 5 occassions now, my boyuf and i have worn the same thing without planning it.it was only awkward once, where we wore the asme, brightly colored tie dye shirt. people noticed at that point and we both felt odd...but, sometime we will both wear a red shirt with black shorts, etc....kind of cute i guess if not so blatant.
27I lived with a freak in college that thought her and her boyfriend needed to color coordinate. I gagged everytime I had to look at them. Is is beyond cheesey if that is at all possible.
28my husband and i leave at very different times of the morning, so we don't always see what we're wearing until we get home. more than once we've ended up in very similar outfits (color schemes, etc.) without knowing it...i hate it!!! i think it's SO cheesy. so usually if we're going out one or both of us will have to change.
29It would be cute if it's just a shirt but matching the whole outfir is really corny!
30I think it's cute when it's done accidentally.
31My husband and I both have red jerseys when one of us is wearing one the other one of us will put their red jersey on too... we like to copy one another, its cute and special to our relationship!
Neat trend! as long as I wear the feminine version and he wears the male version, we look well dressed together i reckon!
