5Having an opinion that coincides with most of America makes you open minded?
6I think maybe they're saying he sounds open minded because he's for certain issues like gay marriage, pot legalization, and non religion which a lot of Americans are not for and look down on. He may not be gay and he may not smoke pot for medicinal purposes, but he's open to the idea that they should be accepted. I don't think open mindedness has anything to do with how many others agree with you. But I could be wrong. Anyhow I agree that it sounds refreshingly open minded.

11I would totally vote for him. I agree with his stance on a lot of issues that he's spoken out about, and you can't argue that he has the best interests of the town at heart. He's done so much for the hurricane damaged areas.
