"While Miley did show off some skills, we at SCORES cannot encourage this kind of behavior for women under the legal age. If she'd like to come try out in a couple of years, our door's open!"
— Ed Norwick, the general manager of NYC gentleman's club Scores, says that even he cannot condone tween Miley Cyrus's pole dancing performance seen on last night's Teen Choice Awards.

Infomania on Current TV compared Elle to Barely Legal because of the sexual nature of the Miley photo spread.
1wtf is with the teen choice awards and these poles? first they had one at that party where Mileys little sis was posing with it and now at the show.
2If you watch the clip or the show..
She literally walks out of a trailer with four scanty clad "friend/dancers" and then gets on an ice cream cart with a pole and does a little move..
again.. straight from a trailer to a pole.. who approves this stuff for the Teen Choice Awards?
3Want to see something even more disturbing? Miley's nine-year-old sis was dancing around a poll last week. Siiigh. http://snurl.com/po2ow
4Ugh. Even Britney/Christina/Jessica back in their heyday never did any of this crap. At 16!? It seems like Miley is doing anything to get attention and to maybe derive away from being a role model for tweens all around the world. It's like Britney, but worse. She's on the Disney channel and trying to do this! why can't teens just behave like teens? I was one once, and didn't start prancing around a pole in hot pants. Play to your audience. The people who like her are younger people. If you want to find a new market, take your ass off of the Disney Channel, start making big-girl music, and maybbeeee you can get away with acting like a young skank on TV.
5Ok let me get this straight. A photo shoot done with the incrediably talented and esteemed photographer Annie Leibovitz is cause for Miley to get embarassed and apologize to everyone who were all apparently corrupted just by seeing these photos. But a pole dance is just A-OK.
6WTF, Miley?????
The Elle photoshoot isn't bad at all. I'm not sure it would be compared to Barely Legal. Ditto for the Vogue shoot that caused so much trouble in the past. A pole at the Teen Choice Awards though? That's just tacky.
7Meant "I'm not sure *why* it would be compared to Barely Legal."
8Be careful. Give up the tween Disney Market $$$$? I don't think she would want to do that to "start making big-girl music" (well put). She has no real musical talent.
9What a great pole-model she is for little girls.
10all i can say is billy ray wants to be back in the lime light so bad that he has came down to this!! it's okay to let her preform, but this is to much! i think she is to young to be preforming with a pole, i feel that her innocence is slowly going out the door. i don't think this is a great example for young girls!! what's going to be the next big hit a walmart..miley poles. watch!!
11tlsgirl- you can see it here, around 9"40 mark. The whole episode is pretty funny though; it was rather tongue in cheek

12Come back when it's a Olympic sport, Miley.
13*an
14disgusting.
15Foul. Why is Miley trying her best to look like a young wh*re? No matter what she does these days it's always distasteful. He parents should be kicked in the behind for allowing her to present herself in this matter.
16She was pole dancing? What was she thinking?
17Poles belong in strip clubs people... what a good goal for her to have, trying to emulate a stripper.
18Hold up everybody! I just watched the whole video clip and while it was painful for several reasons (having to listen to her voice, etc.) I think it's misleading to call it 'pole dancing.' Ok, there was a pole and she was dancing. But the pole was on top of an icecream cart and it looked like she was holding onto it to keep her balance. The only provocative move she did with the pole is the one captured in the photo here.
It was rather tame, I'd say. Her shorts on the other hand are a little short! But the dance moves were mostly moving her hips to the beat and that hasn't been considered provocative since Elvis so.....
19I reckon she needs to grow up herself before she starts trying to make tweens act years older than they are.
20Thank you MSucre...she was literally on the cart for maybe 30 seconds, and really mostly looked to be steadying herself. The shorts were a bit short, but honestly...walk down a high school hallway and look at the 10 and 11 graders. That's her age group. And she'd fit right in.
21Not that I'd want my sister to be strutting around in those shorts, but before we crucify her, let's put it into perspective. Pole dancing is really taking it a bit far as a description.
i did get a little pole dancing vibe from it.
22I just finally watched it (on mute) and I actually agree with MSucre now. She wasn't even really dancing when she was up there.
2310th graders might be her age group, but 10 year olds are her groupies.
24janneth i agree, i don't know many people over the age of 12 maybe 13 who like miley cyrus.
25just watched this. the pole dance part doesn't bother me. over all, other than the crotch grabbing the male dancers did, i think the dancing was pretty tame (and lame).
what i didn't like was the girls/women wearing just bras. and i didn't realize that mileys bra was basically her top, especially in the back. she came out of a trailer, so was she trying to look like trash?
this is part of why we don't have television, little girls are sexualized. not really a surprised i guess. miley wants to be seen as a grown-up and she thinks being seen as a sex object is the quickest way to do that.
26and we all wonder whats wrong with the world
27Way to go Tres and company, I'm sure you're so proud of yourself for picking on children
