We've heard that skinny jeans can cause tingling thigh syndrome, but in news that will surprise absolutely no one who wears skinny jeans (I even sit half-lotus while meditating in mine!), Consumer Reports physicians say that wearing skinny jeans could also give you bladder infections, yeast infections, blood clots and even fertility problems!
“Once you have those symptoms," NYU assistant professor of neurology Dr. Keith Stiller says with a straight face, "it’s probably not a good idea to for you to keep wearing those clothes.” (Ya think?) What about you — will anything come between you and your Calvins skinnies?

I will never jeopardized my health for fashion. And to be honest skinny jeans don't even look good on me.
1How about
No-I wear a size that fits me and I can move around in them.
Skinny jeans arent meant to be worn by big girls wanting to be thinner! wear your size and dont try to squeeze your behind in something you arent or yes, you will get health problems!
2Skinny jeans just don't look right on my big-assed self, anyway. I feel like you have to have a fair amount of inner thigh clearance to wear a pair and not look like a sausage.
3exactly Caterpillargirl, if you wear a size that fits you properly they arent painted on or uncomfortable at all. I dont see how all the women who had to lay down on their beds and do up their jeans with pliers in the past are any better off than people with the tightest skinny jeans. But regardless. Skinny jeans do not have to mean they fit you as tight as your skin does.
4"inner thigh clearance" LMAO oh, I love that, Mondaymoos
5flared jeans(the type i wore in high school) were also really tight in the thighs and they dont say anything about those, they should say tight jeans in general. iv been wearing mine for years and iv never had a problem. just wear wut fits u properly and dont go too tight and ur fine
6Honestly, these problems have been said to be caused by any kind of tight pants, including leggings and silk underwear. Just do your laundry and buy the right size.
7I have an hourglass figure. I don't have the body type for skinny jeans. I go for low-rise, boot cut jeans.
8I only own one pair because it was a present. I feel kind of restricted in them. I prefer open leg jeans.
9Too-tight skinny jeans may cause those problems, but appropriately-fitting skinny jeans won't. Why don't they mention tight-fitting jeans with flared or boot-cut legs? This sounds like a case of the media making a big deal out of nothing.
10I could wear skinny jeans, but I don't. I almost always wear skirts unless it's so cold that I have to. When I upgrade my Vespa to a real motorcycle I think I'll wear jeans more.
11Oh, and by the way - comfort is really overrated in society, in my opinion. I think sometimes comfort is an excuse to dress frumpily. Fashion is sometimes painful.
12If you wear the correct size it should be cutting off your circulation!
13I am a size 28/29 and have an hourglass figure. I love skinny jeans, yes i wear them tight but not to the point where i am uncomfortable. it is a personal preference. so i dont think it can just be said that those who wear skinny jeans are wearing a size that doesnt fit them or are trying to be thinner...
14Too tight jeans are too tight jeans, whether they're skinny jeans or not... my skinny jeans aren't skin tight, so I don't see how they could cause any problems.
15I'm with equestriennec on this...I don't feel like my skinny jeans are so tight that they would cause health problems.
16Fat + Skinny Jeans = Unsightly. Seriously. I don't know why Torrid replaced all their awesome Tripp bondage pants with emo pants that look terrible on fat people. And this is coming from a fat chick who gets genuine compliments on her legs often.
But yeah. Though emo kids with reproductive problems? Huzzah! The next generation is saved!
17..wait there are still emo kids around?
18I have one pair, but they aren't suffocating me. I understand the kind of pants they're talking about though... seriously, those young guys who squeeze themselves into tighter pants than I ever could (and I have stick-limbs).
It is possible to be comfortable and look nice. You don't have to be a fashion victim.
19I don't wear skinny jeans...and either should 95% of the population. I see a lot of teens walking around looking 30lbs heavier than they probably are... I don't understand why they think they look good in them?!
20No, I agree Pistil. The two are not mutually exclusive. But, they are diametrically correlated.
21Skinny jeans refer to the style of the JEANS, not the PEOPLE wearing them. Some of the comments above left me confused...people of all sizes can (probably shouldn't, but they CAN is the point) wear skinny jeans, if they fit properly - like any other clothes you wear.
I don't buy things that don't fit or that I don't like or don't flatter my figure. Skinny jeans, while they fit pretty well (and I'm overweight), don't feel all that great and I don't like them. That, and I have bigger legs than skinny jeans allow for. I only wear bootleg and flare styles, personally.
A lot of people make the mistake of buying the wrong size clothes in general, but definitely with skinny jeans this can become a health hazard. I don't understand why they're popular, really, they don't look that great on anyone - why not just buy leggings instead?
22those tight jeans, tight athletic wear have all caused urinary tract infections. now that i am aware of this i have modified how often i wear these.
23I really don't look good in skinny jeans (actually anything other than a flare leg will make me look like a pear on stilts), so I can't say I care much! I can't say I like the look of skinny jeans. Can we get rid of them?
24Comfort does NOT equal frumpy. >:(
Personally I don't wear skinny jeans, I think they're too constricting. I stick to my comfy flares that look quite good thank you very much.
25I got my skinny's during the winter because I love the jeans in tall boots look, i have tried a couple types and my fav pair have 99% cotton and 1% spandex, look for the spandex, seriously they are very comf! I agree about thighs looking like sausages, lol, so i tend to only wear them on my "confident" days
26i worship skinny jeans!!!i will wash my jeans more often!
27My skinny jeans and tight jeans are two different things. I have pretty much nonexistent hips and a small butt and skinny jeans work well with my body shape. Really not squeezing anything in.
28That is weird. But I love skinny jeans and that's all that matters.
29I thought they were called skinny jeans because of the tightness from the knee down. Not all over. For a lot of people the fit at the thigh and waist should be similar to wearing boot cut or flare jeans. Some people must be wearing pants that are too tight for them too begin with.
30I never wear skinny jeans and by the way you can be both stylish and comfortable.
31I've been squeezing into my stylish painted-on jeans for years now. My bffs say they're too tight, lol, but they look great, and I've never experienced any of these 'problems' the media seems to be pushing on us lately. Seriously, I think some ppl are just jealous!
