Accepting that modern couples may be turned off by traditionally rigid morals, the Church of England is making an effort to welcome families who have had children out of wedlock.
Today, the Church unveiled a new "hatch and match" service that offers a two-for-one wedding and baptism ceremony. Now couples can get married and have their children baptized all in one day!
But not everyone is happy by the Church's effort to stay relevant. Some argue that it condones having children before marriage, while another member of the faith said: "It's a shame that what should be a bride's day now stands to be hijacked by screaming kids."
The Church hopes the new offering will atone for the tradition of shunning unmarried mothers by welcoming them back into the Church without judgment. Now let's just see if the women (and their partners and children) will take the offer.

The reason why a church that is biblically centered would shun anyone away is because a person doesn't want to repent from sin. Obviously shunning sinners defeats the purpose because then there wouldn't be a single person at any church.
1Hey, all you unwed parents! Get over here and un-bastardize your child right now!
You're lucky we're the Church of England...

5I'd totally go to/have one of those if I were religious and had a baby. That sounds awesome. I love the name too. I think it's a really cute idea.
6Lyngay, love the Eddie Izzard reference!
7Why are they acting like you have to pay for the churches time with both? You're not saving money by having two things done in a day.
And I agree, why should the bride have her day interruped by a screaming, or complaining child, no matter which person it belongs too, the man or woman.
A wedding and Baptism should be done at different times. There is nothing wrong with getting the child done first and then the bride and groom later on, while the children are being handled by whoever will be keeping them over the wedding and honeymoon time.
In other words, on the wedding day, the nanny, babysitter, or family members should handle the children so that the bride and groom will not be interrupted by all the things they have to do.
They are already nervous that they will be forgetting their lines and other things. A wedding day is a happy but nervous day untill the vows are completely over with.
Kids are messy and a wedding gown is white or light. How upsetting would it be if a child accidentally got their mothers, or new mothers, wedding dressed stained or ripped. The bride is not going down the isle looking a hot mess knowing that hundreds are staring at her including cameras and video.
