There's been a big push in Africa to get men circumcised in order to reduce their risk of contracting HIV. A recent study dedicated to evaluating the health benefits of male circumcision in Uganda decided to go further and see how the practice impacted a patient's sex life. The results show that 40 percent of women said that they had more satisfying sex after their partner was circumcised. (Note: 57 percent reported no change and three percent said sex was less satisfying.)
Women credited a variety of factors for their increase in pleasure, including improved hygiene, a longer period before their partner climaxed, and an increased sex drive from their partner.
I've heard anecdotal evidence to support a wide range of opinions on the topic. Some women say sex is much better when a man is au naturel, while others are turned off by the foreskin. And some women I know don't have an opinion either way. What about you?

My husband is uncircumsized (I live in Italy and here circumcision is very uncommon) and it is so much more amazing! With that extra skin it creates a more 'cushioned' effect and for me is much more pleasurable.
1Circumcized. Foreskin is a big turn-off to me.
2*circumcised.
3Most European men are not circumcised but, despite this, have very low rates of HIV infection. 75 years after introducing mass male circumcision, America is one of the developed nations most burdened with HIV.
This research is discussing circumcising babies. Since babies cannot give consent for themselves, any medical or surgical intervention performed must be to prevent a disease that may befall them as a child, thus necessitating that intervention at an early age. Since newborns do not have sex, HIV prevention is not a valid reason to perform this operation at that age.
4does it even matter?as long as you love him....i see no problem
5It seems like this question is asked 8735892 times in a row. Anyway, I have never had sex with anyone who was uncircumsised. I can't be an accurate judge of what I like more or less. Either way, I don't think it matters much as long as whoever you are having sex with is of average size -- because circumcised or unircumcised, it won't feel good if you can barely feel anything.
6i can't believe someone would choose un...that's sick
7it's one thing to deal with it if it presented itself but to say you PREFER it? ugh
skigurl, that opinion is just ridiculous. Personally, I don't find circumcised penises attractive (they remind me of mushrooms
), but I wouldn't call anyone sick just because they find a circumcised penis more appealing.
When it reallly counts, they look pretty much the same anyway (the foreskin retracts, you see).
8Men are born with their foreskin intact, there's a reason for that.
Here in Europe, the vast majority of men are uncircumcised and it doesn't cause them any problems whatsover.
I also feel like this question has been asked 8735892 times.
9I am a fan of both! Always have been. When my fiance and I first slept together, he admitted later that he was really worried that I would find his uncircumcised penis unattractive or gross. He has had much criticism throughout his life from girls about his penis. I think that's ridiculous. I also think it's very interesting that many European men aren't circumcised. Didn't know that!
10who cares? cut peens look a little nicer soft, but when it matters you can hardly even tell... i love them all equally
11A weiners a weiner.
12i don't care either way. I don't think a uncircumcised penis is sick, I mean it's the natural way.
13This has been asked soo many times here. I don't care. A penis is a penis
14I think it's pretty shallow to care that deeply either way. My husband is circumcised (and it doesn't make his penis any less or more hot--penises are just hot by themselves!), but we don't plan to circumcise our future sons (for ethical reasons). And I sure hope there aren't a whole bunch of shallow girls (or guys, who knows!) who would judge him for not having an altered body.
15I'll admit that I find circumcised more attractive in general, but I don't really care. The first time performing oral sex on an un-circumcised penis was a little different, though.
16Where is the "I have no clue" option? I have only been with men that were circumcised so I have nothing to compare to as far as sex goes. I think they both look equally attractive to the eye.
17i've only been with two men and they were both uncircumcised so i wouldn't know... but shouldn't it feel the same?? i mean.. they both look the same when hard ....
18bonniebonnie, circumcised men definitely are in the minority in most of Europe, the only exceptions are the predominantly muslim countries. Outside of those, the circumcision rate is below 20% (and that, of course, includes Jewish and Muslim men, it would be even lower otherwise). Circumcision of newborns is very rare (except for religious reasons).
19I'm so tired of the same question being asked repeatedly, in different ways.
20First of all, this question is asked like, every three months here.
Number two, how many of you would be HORRIFIED if you saw "Do you prefer sex with a woman whose labia are "neat"/"tucked in" or visible?" on a men's website? Or how many of you would be up in arms if you saw men voting on "Do you prefer to be intimate with women with small nipples or large ones?"
We simply have to stop objectifying men before they stop objectifying us. Be the bigger people, and set an example.
21Don't care either way, from my own experience. I think the more interesting question is "would you allow your son to be circumcised?" I wouldn't. I have no religious or cultural affiliation to encourage me to do so. Plus, I think it's a pretty cruel thing to do to the poor little guy.
22Uncircumcised.
23The poll may be ridiculous but I don't think there's anything wrong with stating a preference.
I prefer a circumcised penis because *I* find it more attractive and cleaner. It's obvious that if an extremely hot guy wanted to have sex with me (someone who looked like Johnny Depp, Eric Bana, Keanu Reeves, Daniel Craig, James Purefoy...) I would NOT turn him down because of an uncircumcised penis...duh!
But sex would be a lot more exciting to me if the guy had a circumcised one.
24Had both, liked both. Doesn't matter to me.
25Had both, prefer circumcised as they are cleaner or more attractive to me.
But considering that there's only one penis in my life right now, my life's not particularly changing (he's circumcised, btw).
26For me as far as intercourse is concerned neither one has an advantage. So it comes down to cosmetic appeal for gay men. All of first several encounters were circumcised so for a long time I preferred that but then I learned to get over it and now I just don't give a damn. I weenie is a weenie and if it make you go speak in tongues and slam your foot through wall right on!
27*A weenie...not (I) lol
28Not circumsized? S that D, shut that down...DEALBREAKER!
29My husband is natural and uncircumcised. He is from Europe. He says only the Jews and Muslims do it there.
30What's sad is I decided to get my son circumcised, but it didn't turn out, as part of the cut away skin stayed on and healed. Now only part of the forskin is gone. Now he would have to go through a lot of pain to correct it and I know I won't bother. I'm sorry I ever did it to him now. I think Americans do it to keep cleaner easier. But honestly I don't think they put enough thought into why they do it here. They just do it.
Who cares - as long as it's a penis, and the guy can use it! I did respond "uncircumsized", since my boyfriend is, and he's the best I've ever had BY FAR.
31Uncircumsized feels really really good! I could *definitely* tell a difference.
Personal preferance? Either one will do for me.
32Yeah, I swear this has been asked like 8 times already.
33I'm horrified by how many people are grossed out by uncircumcised penises... that's how men are born!! Circumcision is a painful, traumatic procedure that is performed on babies without their consent and without anesthetic that has NO place in modern society. (I guess I'd make an exception for religious beliefs.) The whole 'cleanliness' aspect was only important during WWI when men were spending weeks in trenches without showers... even if a man cleans himself every other day there's no problem with having an uncircumcised penis. And I think CONDOMS are a lot more effective in preventing the spread of AIDS than circumcision. This question makes me angry every time it's posted.
34Uncircumsized ones are adorable! It's like the little guy is in hiding and then POOF, comes out to play. I'm biased because my partner of 10 years is uncircumsized, I suppose. And I too am somewhat horrified by all the people who are "disgusted". Shallow much??
35I'm totally fine with both. As long as it's a good size(I mean, it doesn't have to be huge, but just like, ya know!!). And as some people said, when it really counts, they look pretty much the same anyway.
36@35..."shallow much" why? Because some here stated a personal preference? Give me a f*cking break.
Learn how to respect others who disagree with you. If you think uncircumcised penises are "adorable", fine. I don't.
37The whole 'cleanliness' aspect was only important during WWI when men were spending weeks in trenches without showers... even if a man cleans himself every other day there's no problem with having an uncircumcised penis.
Cotedazur, I don't think an uncircumcised penis will ever be as clean as a circumcised one, sorry. Even if a man showers everyday he will probably pee more than once -- and I doubt he will clean his penis (other than the obligatory shaking) every time he visits the urinal. A little bit of urine will remain under the foreskin and I do find that disgusting.
*And it's obvious that wearing a condom is the best way to avoid AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. What was said on the main post is that circumcision "reduced the risk of contracting HIV" -- it wasn't stated, at any moment, that getting only a circumcision would be enough to avoid AIDS.
38I have no idea, I've only been with 1 person and he is circumcised. Now here's my dilemma, if I ever have a son, I have no idea what to do, I'm on the fence.
Did anyone watch the Penn and Teller episode about circumcision?
39I hope those people who said they find an uncircumsized penis disgusting come across some poll asking men if they prefer women with big tits or small tits and you have the opposite to what is preferred AND that someone says "women with small/big tits are disgusting! ew".
tres, stop asking this question.
40it's SHALLOW and stupid.
Everyone has their personal preferences. Some guys like big breasts and some like small. Some guys like long legs and a small butt while others like short curvy girls. Everyone has and is entitled to their personal preference and I don't think it's swallow. I wouldn't be personally offended if a guy voted on a website that he liked huge tits and went on to explain why. My breasts are small, but whatever, that's his thing and he's entitled to it. I refuse to date short guys just because they are short. It's all about personal preference.
41Thank you, Hiding55! It amazes me how people turn a simple statement of preference into an "us vs. them" battle.
42@danakscully64
43This is just my personal opinion, I don't mean to offend anyone...
I definitely wouldn't have him circumcised. You can't reverse a circumcition, so, personally, I feel it's something a man has to decide for himself once he's old enough. I grew up in a society where circumcision is the exception rather than the norm and I've never heard of anyone having had problems with infections etc., so it really isn't something that has to be done right after birth. If, once he's older, your son feels he wants to get it done, he can always do so then.
Americans are used to a cut penis, and unfortunately it's unusual for us. But the people who commented on this post with disgust really need to grow up. My current bf is from England and uncut, and after the first time I got used to it. You're dating the guy, not his penis.
44Fimlgirl81, then you should have told Très to grow up and not post that poll again. Because I don't think I need to grow up just because I have a preference. The immature ones are those who can't accept people have personal opinions and tastes.
45Men are circumcised all over the world not just in America. They are circumcised in Africa, Asia etc. depending on their religion. This question needs to go.
46tatsauce — OMG I love the 30 Rock reference. SUCH a good episode!
I don't really know why having a preference makes someone "shallow." I prefer circumcised to uncircumcised. I also prefer tall men, and I've often dated men with dark hair. I don't understand what the problem is with preferring one thing over another. I wouldn't *break up* with someone JUST because they're uncircumcised (or short or blond), of course, and I've had sex with uncircumcised men. It's not like we're puking all over a guy at the sight of his uncircumcised member.
47It's not a deterrent, per se, but I definitely prefer circumcised.
I just wanted to clarify that of course, everyone has the right to a preference, and of course Americans are going to be much more used to circumcised penises. I don't, however, think that it's OK to say that a penis is disgusting or to be grossed out by it just because it's natural. To prefer one or the other, though, is normal.
Also, the foreskin doesn't cover the urethra, so there's no difference in cleanliness after peeing.
48Also, the foreskin doesn't cover the urethra, so there's no difference in cleanliness after peeing.
Why do many uncircumcised men pull their foreskin back to pee then?
I've dated both and I can honestly tell that there is a difference (and the uncircumcised one I dated was a squeaky-clean man, by the way).
49@ Mädchen
My oldest sister didn't have her 2 boys
circumcised, I'm leaning in that direction are well, it's just going to be hard because my future hubby is. I'm a hippy at heart
