Today is the official release day for the new Apple iPhone. People have been pining over this hot new gadget for months now, making it the most talked about, anticipated "it" phone ever! Since no one has even used it yet, the general public is just trusting all the hype, wanting to make sure they have the talked about toy of the summer.
The desire to keep up with the Jones' happens when it comes to the latest it handbag, the newest fashion trend, sunglasses, even the latest and greatest hair style! We see celebrities setting the stage and we can't help but want to mimic their look or acquire their "things". While it is just a part of human nature, what I want to know is, how important is it to you to keep up with the latest and greatest trend?

I think it is somewhat important. I work in an industry that is almost exclusively based on relationships and impressions. We don't need to be "trendy" to be taken seriously, but we do need to look nice and stylish to give off a good impression. If my wardrobe has early 90's written all over it, they may assume that I can't keep up with the current market as well as the current styles. I don't think you have to spend a fortune to be trendy, however. I don't need need the latest cell phone or purse to feel good about myself.
1depends .. if i like the trend and it looks good on me, and i can afford to, why not jump on the wagon?
2I chose "I could care less" even though I actually _couldn't_ care less.
Being trendy is not important to me at all. To each her own, but I think it's kind of pathetic to always be jumping to follow the latest trend. It's like, can't you think for yourself? Why do you need other people to tell you what is "cool" to wear and buy? It's all just consumerism relying on people being a bunch of sheep.
3hahaha popgoestheworld that always drives me nuts.
as i get older...i'm affected my trends less and less. maybe it is just me. i like what i like.
4Not at all, as long as I think I look good it's irrelevant. I get compliments on how I dress whether I'm up to date on trends or not.
5I said semi-important. I like looking put together and fashionable, but I'd never blow any real amount of money on a flash-in-the-pan trend that will be over by next week. I definitely prefer classic looks.
The two end pictures on the photo display in this thread are reason enough to NOT follow today's trends.
6If you like something new and your in the position to buy it.
7Go for it!
it is important... well to me anyways! but not super important, my world is not going to end if i cant afford to buy something that is "hot" so what i try to do instead is mix and match things i already have to get a similar look. This way i know it looks good on me and its affordable yet still fashionable!
8price range is totally what matters for me. i'm still a starving college student!
9want it but can live without it! (sometimes) hehe!
10not really, if u look good and feel good then u dont have to have the newest things all the time, its kind of ridiculous to be like i cant live without that newest most now bag even if i dont even like it that much. If somthing new comes out and i like it then fab, but highstreet stuff can b gr8 too, u just have to know where to look.
11It can be fun, but important? Your health is important, your family and friends are important. I know there are people (esp. in this city!) who would rather have a new iPhone than save the life of someone they don't know.

13Sometimes, but more importantly for me is whether I look like a vow or not in it.
14semi-important. i usually buy clothes that are not too trendy so that they last past the current season. i'm not a total fashion slave and i don't follow all the trends, especially the ridiculous ones.
15semi important
16why follow something u can create on ure own?
