I’m not a big porn-watcher, but if I did watch porn, I wouldn’t watch it for the plot. (I’m kinda like a dude that way.)
Well, it turns out if I started watching porn now, I’d be in luck. The pendulum has swung back to plotless porn, in part due to competition from the Internet, where porn scenes are short, relatively plotless and dialogueless, and which cut to the action more quickly. “On the Internet, the average attention span is three to five minutes,” said Steven Hirsch, co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment. “We have to cater to that.”
In the ‘70s, during the so-called golden age of porn, when actresses still had pubic hair and actors sported porn ‘staches, movies like Behind the Green Door were practically feature films — only with lots of sex. Then cheap, hand-held video cameras ushered in a generation of pornographers who bypassed plot so that the leading lady could quickly get down and dirty with the pool boy. Plot rolled back into porn the ‘90s with the popularity of DVDs. Big studios, said Paul Fishbein of AVN Media Network, wanted to appeal to women, hoping that couples would watch the films at home.
But we’re back again to plotless porn. What’s replaced plot? Themes, like New Sensations’ Girls ‘n Glasses, which stitches together scenes of women having sex in their glasses. Porn actress Savanna Samson laments the falling away of plot. “I used to have dialogue,” she said, and used to get excited about scripts. “Getting it on in one hardcore scene after another," she continues, "just isn’t as much fun."
So here’s a question — if you watch porn, do you prefer yours with a plot or plotless?

Plotless. I'm like a dude in that way too..
1Not a porn watcher, but who in the world would watch porn for the plot? If you want a plot, watch a real movie.
2I think there should be more porn made for women. To me, a lot of porn that is currently out treat women like crap and degrade them. It would be nice to see a porn movie that is geared for women or has a more feminie touch to it.
3Girls n Glasses! It's about time. Porn for women exists, I forgot the director but she is female and that is her specialty. Never actually watched on though but passed by her work when I was perusing the other selections.
4Plotless for sure. The "plots" are so bad and the "actors" should stick to just moaning
5I'm in the minority here LOL.
I like some/a little (not long) plot with my porn. I liked the 'Behind The Green Door' but yeah, the plot was a little too long for my taste, cut a few scenes here and there, voila, it'll be perfect
And yes, the acting usually is always horrendous
6Plotless. But the women should scream less! Geez, those "oooohhhhhs" and "aaaahhhhhhhs" are too high-pitched and annoying!
They don't moan, they squeal.
7However, The Devil in Miss Jones has a really interesting plot
It's a classic film
in my humble (and naughty) opinion.
I mean, the Devil himself doesn't rule hell...his lawyer does! And does not allow him to have an orgasm...Priceless!!!
8I'm not a huge porn fan, but I prefer enough plot to feel like it's real, but not so much that it takes ages to 'get to the point'.
I'd actually prefer written erotica if I wasn't so bad at holding a book with one hand while the other was busy, though.
9No plot, or at least as little as possible. That said, there are almost no companies that cater to women and the ones that do have a much more limited budget because of smaller market share. Finding authentic by-and-for lesbian porn is even more restricting.
10I like a plot. I don't find porn very sexy (unless I'm watching it with my boyfriend), so I watch it more for entertainment. I like to see the porn stars trying to act (especially the blonde girl from Pirates, since she just seems to have the "can we like, just get to the sex now?" and "OMG like they made me READ things!" and then there's a guy that gets REALLY into the acting...).
