Every day editors of the Merriam-Webster dictionary spend hours reading books, magazines, newspapers, and online publications to find out how people are using the English language. Eventually, if a word is used enough, it gets added to the dictionary! This year, Merriam-Webster added 100 new words, including frenemy, ginormous, smackdown, sudoku, and speed dating. The dictionary publishers say the words are included because of their extensive use, but some of the new additions seem pretty obscure to me. I guess that's what Google a dictionary is for! See if you can match some of the more random words to their newly-printed official definitions!

1Guess I need to bruch up on my "new word" vocabulary.
Lucky for me, I have heard all of them before. Though a lot of people use "crunk" incorrectly.
I also had no idea flex-cuff was new. I have heard it on cops a lot!

34/5 Not bad.
44/5
52/5... People use crunk different ways though.
6crunk... i live in memphis and have never heard of this as a style of music... i have heard get crunk and that's crunk
7Crunk is incorrect. Crunk is a mix of the words crazy and drunk. It was used to express a state of being in a frenzy that normally comes after you have been drinking and have gone to a club.
83/5 and I've never heard any of these words before so I'm not ashamed.
9Um, I live in Memphis and "crunk" is very popular in the clubs. Personally, it's not my type of music, but to each his own.
10I heard that "crunk" was either a portmanteau of crazy + drunk OR chronic + drunk..
11I have never heard of crunk music and I lived in SC most of my life... I guess you learn something new everyday!
HOWEVER, in college (I graduated last year) we used it as extreme intoxication... like #8 said crazy + drunk).
12Crunk is both a form of Southern Hip-Hop and a derivative of crazy and drunk (more so like acting like a crazy drunk, not actual being drunk).
13Crunk is a form of really crappy (yet catchy) hip/hop (think Lil Jon and Ying Yang Twins).... BUT, it's DEFINITELY also, CRAZY and DRUNK.. I mean c'mon who hasn't heard "LETS GET CRUNK!!!" That's definitely not a music reference.
14oh.. and I REALLY wish I didn't know what a flex-cuff is.....
15Yeah, 4/5!
