We've discussed the pros and cons of filming yourself having sex, but here's a story to add to the list of reasons to never make a sex tape: a 29-year-old teacher in California accidentally sent her own sex tape home with all her fifth grade students on the last day of school!
The DVD was supposed to commemorate this past school year, but instead the students got a bonus sex-ed session. The embarrassed teacher called each household and asked the parents to throw away the DVD.
Just goes to show: you never know who could get their (little) hands on your sex tape!

Oh god! If I had a sex tape, I would definitely double check any DVD I gave my students. Thank God I make sure my students don't know much about my private life, and they will never see me having sex on tape.
1Why did she have so many copies of her sex tape in the first place?
2Exactly, Sympohnee ! .. I would think that if you had a sex tape (dvd) you would keep it safely hidden --- not somewhere where you would accidently grab it instead of a school year dvd !
3okay i dont get it, to pass out a DVD to all your students you have to make copies of it, wouldn't she have labeled it or watched it before she made the copies to make sure it is the right DVD.
4Well that's embarrassing.
5Mine says "broken" and taped under the bed. My husband thinks its been thrown away...
6According to the article, two parents say they saw 6 seconds of sexual activity on the dvd. That means the dvd is a compilation of clips put together. How is it possible for this to happen on accident? Surely she would have watched the clips as she put them together?
7I hope one of the students put it on youtube and the low life lost her job.
8you know, if it was a male teacher who made this mistake, he would have been fired on the spot and forced to register as a sex offender. but because it's a woman, it's just "ooh, simple mistake. let her keep teaching." I'm a woman btw and i think she should be fired for such a disturbing mistake.
9hehehe. it would have been funny if she meant to do that. Like, if she was thinking, "Hahahaha! Stupid little brats! How shall I get back at them for torturing me all year. . . . I know! I'll rob them of their innocence! Then, I can just say it was an accident and I keep my job. It's perfect!"
10Or maybe I am just over-thinking this. . .
OMG so careless and embarrassing!
11That's sad. How could you "accidentally" send that home! Very very very very very embarrassing!
12Why is she a low life FaerieBlu? She's not the sharpest tool in the shed but she didn't intentionally want all of her students and their parents to see her naked!
13Yikes!
14@Farieblu: Since when did an embarassing accident make someone a lowlife? You want a 24-year-old woman, who is a teacher, to get fired and (probably) labeld as a sex criminal (aka having a restraing order against children, and not being able to find a job, and being kicked out of most neighborhoods) and have her life destroyed because of what was more-than-likely an honest mistake?
15Getting fired and being required to register as a sex offender are 2 different things. The state would have to bring charges against her (distributing porn to minors? Not sure what the charge would be) & convict her before she would be required to register as a sex offender. The school can terminate her without the pressing criminal charges.
16I'd like to know exactly how it happened, but either way she should be forgiven.
17That article really doesn't describe anything beyond the basic information. I wish I knew what happened to the teacher. I can't decide if she should be fired or if her mistake should be overlooked and the embarrassment of continuing to work at that school is enough of a punishment. Either way what a terrible and careless mistake on her part.
18I would say having to call the parents and explain it to them should be penance enough!
19She's actually 29 - she had 24 students in her class. Try to keep up, Tres!

20She is a lowlife for making a tape of herself in the first place. What's she gonna do watch it for tips on her mistakes?
21Some people like to be filmed. Some people want to feel like a porn star by having the cameras rolling while going at it. And some just want to relive the moment with their significant other. Others just want to be in on the amature porn circut.
What's wrong with filming yourself having sex? You don't HAVE to watch it afterward, some people just get off on having the camera going.
Would you consider her a lowlife if, instead of being filmed, she took naked pictures? Or took naked pictures for her SO? Or were into something else, like feet or bondage?
22So taping yourself having sex automatically makes you a lowlife, FarieBlu? That seems over the edge. Quite honestly you are surrounded by hundreds of low lifes every day if that is your standard.
23I think it was pretty negligant and stupid on her part not to review the compilation of clips before copying the dvd. That being said, its really quite easy to do this these days - everything is digital and uploaded to the computer. Hardly anything is done hard copy anymore, so, this is a really really easy mistake. Accidently added 4235.mp4, to the other number named clips most moderately priced digital camcorders record in.
I dont think it excuses her, but the main argument with the parents is that they had to explain the birds and the bees to their kids. These children are in the 10-12 range, and most schools already have sexual education in the classrooms, been talking to their friends, watching things on cable tv they shoudlnt really be...I was reading romance novels by then, so while it was HORRIFICALLY irresponsible, lazy, and unproffessional of her, its not the end of the world. I dont think she should get fired. The shame is going to be enough, and dealing with a couple years of kids knowing what happened.
24I can see exactly how this happened. Using programs such as windows moviemaker, you upload clips from your computer and then splice them into a timeline. A lot of times, video clips are unlabeled. Yes, it was a mistake for her to not review it completely before distributing it, especially if she knew she had a "personal" video on her computer. My husband and I make recordings from time to time, but they are only stored on a certain computer and very clearly labeled so we can never make the mistake to let them be accessed!!! Oh my gosh, that would be awful.
25I don't know about this teacher. Its incompetent stupid behavior and an unsuitable inappropriate attitude to be defending this mistake as an oops, like she sent the wrong report cards home. I would think she crossed many lines and the school board should take necessary measures.
