I'm a part of the employment crisis. I've been unemployed for a year. I have sent out over 50 resumes. Calls. Thank yous. The whole thing. I have 20 years experience in my field. I can tell you this is the worst economic crisis I have ever known. A few places I've called said they get over 300 resumes for the job they posted. Usually what happens next is someone with three years experience is hired. A month ago I gave my resume to four employment agencies. Most of them place for a lot of administrative jobs. I applied for three since I am familiar with the computer programs. Plus I did some jobs like that after college. Guess what? They didn't hire me. They told me they are looking for administrative experience. Out of shear desperation I have applied to four retail positions. And you know what? They are all on hiring freezes.
One store declined me with no reason. Another one hired three girls
younger than me. Most of those applicants had college degrees too.
What can I do in the meantime except have fun with this site.
Good thing my husband has a solid job or it would be a complete disaster. I'm going to keep trying.
