I'm still in shock that Michael Jackson, an artist who contributed so much to popular culture, is no longer with us. Luckily for all his fans, his music lives on. Out of all his 13 number one songs and countless other hits, it's hard to pick my favorite MJ song. If I had to choose, my top three would be Do You Remember the Time for its amazing Egyptian-themed video, Black or White for its inclusive message, and I'll Be There for the power of young Michael's vocals.
As everyone remembers his legacy in their own way, tell me — what's your favorite Michael Jackson song?

The entire 'Dangerous' album is amazing. I've always been a huge fan of his... "Why You Wanna Trip On Me" is great, "Man in the Mirror" is amazing, and of course from his Jackson 5 days, "Who's Loving you"... As I said in my onsugar blog, this is truly the end of an era. The music industry hasn't been the same since about 1998, and now there is no hope of it turning around. I was hoping this tour would bring music and entertainment into the spotlight of all musicians, instead of their personal lives... how unAmerican of me!
1First is "I'll Be There," though I think I liked Mariah Carey's cover of the song for her Unplugged performance more than when Jackson 5 did it. I have fond memories of being in the car, singing along to this song, on the way to or home from Berkeley with my parents and Jackson Five's "I'll Be There" coming on the 96.3.
For pure Michael Jackson, I'd probably go with "Billie Jean," (though for the longest time I had difficulty separating the tennis master and the song), and "Thriller," particularly for the music video (my first ever exposure to zombies...it scared the bejesus out of me). The music wasn't the best, but it was very fun.
That said, he was never really one of my favorites, especially after he turned white, face got all funky and started dressing like a more stylish Freddie Kreuger. In fact, Michael Jackson kind of terrified me for a long time. He was a zombie, he was a shape-shifting panther-man, he somehow went from black to white in what I later connected to Marlon Brando's visage in the remake of The Island of Dr. Moreau, and in the Moonwalker video game I think he turned into some scary flying laser shooting cyborg thing. But, growing up in the 80s and 90s, it's hard not to have tons of memories about him whether positive or negative.
2I dont have a favorite song there are really too many, so i will say my favorite album was Thriller.
I have to agree with the above comment, Michael Jackson became a freak of nature and all of us who loved him mourned his passing a long time ago.
3There are too many. "Billie Jean", "Thriller", "Bad" I could go on.
4But P.Y.T always has a place in my heart. No wonder he's the King of Pop. He'll always will be
Don't Stop Till You Get Enough
5billie jean
6''man in the mirror'',''you rock my world'',''bad',''beat it'',''don't stop till you get enough'' there are too many to count...he's an icon
7beat it hands down!!
8I can't choose! Each one has a special meaning for me.
9same with me sweetpea..... this is so sad
10It would have to be Billie Jean, Beat It and the way you make me feel!!!
11"Dirty Diana" is by far the best!
12sooooo agree with 'Dirty Diana'. That song is amazing
13I've never had a favorite...everytime I think "okay that one is my fave" I listen to another one and LOVE that one.
14He was a true genius.
I remember getting Dangerous the that Christmas it came out along with my very first CD player. I was locked up in my room with that CD for weeks! My all-time favorite song by MJ would have to be "In The Closet." It's such a hot beat and the lyrics are just sexual.
Old-school choice would have to be "Smooth Criminal."
15Too many to name. But PYT stands out in my head.
16smooth criminal! the music, the lyrics, the video, i even love the remixes of it (yay alien ant farm)
17Smooth Criminal, Beat It, Thriller and Scream.
18Earth Song- I just love the power of it.
They Don't Really Care about US
Can You Feel It- that song never fails to put me in a good mood
I don't have just one. I hear a song and it takes me to a specific time in my life.
19PYT, Will You Be There, Billie Jean, Beat It... I can go on and on!
20Symphonee, I agree with your list as being my favs too. MJ, was a performer who tore down boundaries. Billy Jean crossed that boundary on MTV...this rest is history!! RIP
21Billie Jean. That is my favorite song of all time!
22THRILLER!!! Best song and video of all time! I just remember watching it over and over again before I had even learned English..just completely mesmerized! Still gives me chills! love everything about it
23Leave Me Alone
great song, and I always felt related to it.
24I used to like Black or White the most because it reminded me of my mom for some reason, haha.
Anyway, love Smooth Criminal, Beat it, Thriller, Billie Jean, In the Closet, Dirty Diana...I pretty much love all MJ.
25I also really love Heal the World. We sang it all the time in grammar school.
26I wasn't a big fan of his music but I loved Thriller.
27tie between smooth criminal (for the dancing in the video) and dirty diana
28Smooth Criminal and Billie Jean are the two that pop into my head right now but I am sure there are others.
29Easy - PYT
30Billie Jean, Human Nature, and The Way You Make Me Feel are my top 3, but even then it's really hard to choose. The man just had a way of churning out awesome songs.
31Billie Jean!
32Has to be ABC as that was my first album.
33Black or White/Man in the Mirror!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been listening to those two songs and all the others all day..and watching the tributs on MTV and BET all day!! RIP MICHAEL!!
34"Say, say, say" with Paul McCartney. It's one of his less popular songs, but it's my favorite. I love the melody and the beat. I could dance my heart out to that song.
A close second would be "PYT."
35man in the mirror. always and forever, this is one of the most amazing songs ever to grace our ears. it was the first thing i put on when i heard MJ was in the hospital, and i drove down the road blasting it and singing at the top of my lungs, voice cracking like crazy, and i felt like this was the best tribute i could do to this man who gave me and the world so much with his music.
rip michael. i hope you are finally at peace.
36The Way You Make Me Feel
37Thriller
Don't Stop Til You Get Enough
all of his songs were amazing.
RIP MJ
"Beat It" and "Thriller"
38Dancing Machine
39Group We are the world
40Single Man in the mirror
Michael is and always has been in my music collection among some of the darkest and nastiest metal you could think of. It's rare I stray away from Rock and Metal but he was one of those rarities because I don't think a general 'taste' in music comes into it when someone comes along who is genuinely as talented as he was...It'd be like saying Da Vinci sucked because he wasn't a surrealist.
Billie Jean is always the song that comes to my mind first but I love Smooth Criminal, especially for its video and also Leave Me Alone, it's such a sad song, people should have listened to it.
41Earth song will always be a favourite too because it's the first music video I remember genuinely being wowed by...I would've been like 7 I think, i'll always remember it that way.
Break of dawn(:
42i love that song and
say say say.
all of his songs were the best.
r.i.p michael♥
bad, dirty diana, heal the world and man in the mirror
43Sooo my fav video is the one with the girl all dressed in white... its a pretty "sexual" video for its time... but for some freaking reason im drawing a blank on the name of the song... you know which one im talking about right?
