USA Today recently discussed the challenge of selling male sterilization. A vasectomy, a quick operation that prevents pregnancy by blocking the tubes that carry sperm, is simpler and safer than female sterilization. Even so, they are much less common than female sterilization, since men are less comfortable with medical procedures, especially when, let's face it, it involves their penises.
Despite the PR problem, vasectomies are gaining in popularity during these tough economic times. Take this quiz to find out what you know about this form of birth control.

As soon as my IUD is up my husband is getting one and happy to do so. He's been shot in the leg how bad can a small incision be?
1oh I've told my husband that we're done having kids he's getting snipped!
2I get that it's safer, but say I you're doing having kids at 30...if you get a hysterectomy, that means no more periods!
3My BF volunteered to do it since it's so much less invasive than female sterilization and we're quite sure we're never reproducing.

6But technically getting your tubes tied is the definition of female sterilization, right? So you wouldn't have a hysterectomy.
7I do know that my good friend was 28 when she had her third child. She wanted to get her tubes tied at the same time & they told her that most doctors won't do that now because it doesn't have quite the ability at reversal that most thought it did, and god forbid something happened to her kids, and she decided that she wanted more, there would be a good chance that she wouldn't be able to conceive again.,.. so a lot of doctors aren't doing female sterilzation anymore.
And while I hate my periods, I would never want to have a hysterectomy - to force myself to go thru menopause at an early age. It's not fun, the hormone imbalances are pretty crazy.
My husband had one when we were pregnant with our second child, great decision for us, glad we did it... in fact it was his idea!
8Wow, 4 for 4! We looked into this for my husband but due to my health issues I had a hysterectomy...best thing ever!!!!! No periods!!
94/4 My friend had it done and he said he just had blue balls for a day and then there was no problem after that.
10Bad idea, a lot of men find sex nothing like as good after the snip and many regret not being able to father kids again but some including me had nothing but pain and discomfort. After six months on all the antibiotics my doc could prescribe I felt enough is enough and found a surgeon who could reverse my dreadful mistake.Thank goodness I am much better now and back to double contraceptive precautions but enjoying sex fantastically.

I'm gonna need some links because you seem to be generalizing and when you say a lot do you mean 6/10 , 3/10, what??
12Anonymous must have had a bad surgeon, because he got a very bad infection. And reversals take ten TIMES as long to complete because it's considered microsurgery.
Methinks Anonymous is a FRAUD.
Both my ex-husband and my current boyfriend have had vasectomies, without one single complication. I don't want kids, and both of them had no problems getting snipped.
