It likely has a nest in one of those trees - nesting blackbirds on my parents ranch dive-bomb any dog/cat/human who goes near their nest.

There was a bird around my house that attacked anyone who walked under a certain tree about 6 or 7 years ago. My brother's poor friends had a number of cuts from the bird.

A birdy did that to me when I was a kid. I think I walked too close to its nest or somethin'.

Whoa, that's so weird! My dad told me a bird had attacked him around that area (my mom works in Embarcadero Two) the other day, and I laughed the incident off. What an evil bird!

That's awesome! Cheers to the fiercely maternal or paternal bird. The real punk-asses are the folks crowding around laughing--not warning--the people unwittingly walking into a path of the avian defense. My favorite was the poor woman running around the tree, fooled by the tree canopy's guise of safety. Bad idea!

Also, did the bird make a second dive at the guy after he flipped the bird the bird? And might this be indicative of a realization of the phenomenon pictured by Hitchcock?

I was attacked by a bird once while at an outdoor shopping center. It pulled my hair out and scratched my head! YIKES!

i used to work in the restaurant on the corner where that bird hangs out. hours of entertainment. I am not sure if its a paternal thing since he/she has been at it for several years.
