Here are some key arguments in favor of facilitating the sale of sex online:
- Unlike brothels, Craigslist voluntarily provides client records to police. The records helped apprehend Phillip Markoff, the so-called Craigslist Killer.
- A high-trafficked destination for sex sales makes it easier for law enforcers to target their policing.
- Thanks to Craigslist, prostitutes could work for themselves without having to rely on a pimp or an agency.
- Selling sex online means fewer prostitutes selling their services on the streets.

i'm tired of prostitution being illegal anyway. it should be legalized, taxed, and regulated, so that people can be accounted for, made sure to be of age and consenting, and tested for stds.

9I know this is a semi-old posting so forgive me, just wanted to say this.
Do you think most women ranged anywhere from 10-50 want to do prostitution? No. How are they on the streets then? By force. The pimps beat them senseless until they break their will and they follow his orders. Even if it were to be legalized, you'd still have the majority of it illegal. It makes absolutely no sense at all to legalize it and anyone who thinks it should be has questionable morales. This is from an 18 year old guy who believes that we've gotta keep fighting it until the end to make the world just that much safer.
