Wow. And we complain about high taxes in the US!
Romanian-born Alina Percea, 18, auctioned off her virginity to an Italian businessman (for only $18,000!) and now she's facing some pretty stiff taxes in Germany where she goes to school — 50 percent straight away because they're deeming her act prostitution (legal there) and then a 19 percent VAT (value added tax) because she earned her money so quickly! (Some Germans are taxed up to 45 percent of their incomes.)
She was hoping to get $100,000, but claims that all in all she's happy with the outcome, and may date the Italian guy for free after this. Hardly seems worth it, if you asked me! Natalie Dylan had a better idea. . .

Wow, and I gave away my virginity for free. Come to think of it, I paid for the date that night so I didn't even get a free meal. Sigh.
1We were just talking about this in Citizen 4.0. Apparently she didn't even use protection, and she was hoping to find a nice guy à la Pretty Woman? Her quotes about him are nuts, 'I hope to see the man again - and next time I won't make him pay,' she added.
2This is really sad.
3At least she was responsible enough to take the morning after pill. I wonder how much I could get for my dignity.
4hahaha
& didn't know prostitution was legal in Germany. Neat.
5What?!
I don't care if she sold her virginity...times are hard, and to tell the truth I've thought about doing it in passing. But WHY would you have UNPROTECTED sex with the guy? Sure he paid $18K [which is a SERIOUS devalue...seriously - you want $100K, you don't give it up until you GET $100K, it's not like auctioning a purse on Ebay] but somebody should at least care about their health.
And since the financial transaction was made in Germany...gotta stick by German laws, even if it IS heavily taxed. At least she's not in prison for selling where prostitution's illegal.
6She's really just a dumbass! Idiot of a woman.
7She did what she wanted to do. I'm just pissed that they took 69 percent of it away. That's the sad part
8Sell your body, fine, but if you read what she has to say she sounds way too naive and careless to be sleeping with strangers.
My income is taxed, why shouldn't hers? I didn't realize prostitution was legal in Germany either. I don't know much about it, but it sounds like they have the right idea.
9"I'm just pissed that they took 69 percent of it away. That's the sad part "
Why is it sad? In Germany it's legal and just like any other job. People who work in Germany have to pay taxes. They made this woman pay taxes on the money she earned. If she didn't realize this ahead of time, that's her fault.
10I'm just rolling on the floor laughing at the amount of tax and how fitting it is in this particular situation. I'm sorry, I know prostitution is legal there, but if you have sex for money, in my book, it equals wh*re. It's like the girl in the US that put her virginity up on eBay for the ranch in Nevada. I think the same thing, its just how I feel (that'll earn me some flames on here!)
