If you watch TV, I'm sure you've seen the trailer for the new bro-centric comedy The Hangover. The movie follows a group of best-dudes on a wild bachelor party weekend in Vegas where they get so messed up they can't remember anything that happens. I have to admit the preview garnered a few reflexive chuckles out of me, but after reading some more critical reactions to the movie, I see some troubling references. Child abuse, violence, nagging women, the Holocaust, a cameo by a convicted rapist (Mike Tyson), overweight people, and extreme alcoholism are all used to inspire laughter from the audience. Do you take issue with these types of "bro" movies, or do outraged viewers need to lighten up?

It is so ironic that even the "bad messages" won't be taken seriously ^^ They never will be taken as heroes lol
1However, i'm not interested in it ^^
For some movies I hate that kinda jokes about serious subjects, but I have seen way worse so here it's cool for me.
Get over it people. If it was a movie about a quiet guy's night in playing poker and having 3 beers nobody would watch it. it has to be over the top.
2I can't wait to see this movie. It looks hilarious. I have no issues with these types of movies.
3oh man i am SO excited for this movie. It is going to insalarious! Insane and Hilarious! People need to get a sense of humour.
4Ugh, if only they took these tasteless jokes out of these movies, people wouldn't be stupid enough to believe them and take them into their own lives. Movies like this can still be funny without putting down overweight people, nagging women, endorsing child abuse, etc. I'd have to see the movie first of course though. There's a fine line in these movies between tasteless and just funny.
5Looks funny. Life sucks for everyone right now except movie stars (exaggeration) so I will take laughs any way I can get them. This movie looks really funny. Poking fun at serious stuff is OK with me.
6I hate "bro" movies. I get not one percent of entertainment out of them... Except maybe the fact that they actually make them... and make a profit from them.
7it looks hilarious
8people need to lighten up! it's all jokes!
Get over it! It looks funny, I'll probably go see it.
9Ugh... do they mention "white trash" in this movie as well?
The majority of Hollywood comedies are stupid, exaggerated, politically incorrect humor. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's just stupid. I'm not going to go out of my way to
see this movie, but not because I'm afraid it will be horribly offensive.
10I won't watch it. But - I hardly think guy movies would be successful if they were PC. The whole point, it seems, is to be the opposite.
Whatever. Let boys have their fun. The whole thing just looks way immature.

11bro-comedies are too dumb/funny and chick flicks are too cute/funny.
12Anyone ever notice that you HAVE to drive into VEgas in the dark? Or at least in the movies you do. No entry during daylighrt!!!
13Segat...Vegas is a magical, mystical place that only rises out of the desert sand after nightfall. If you drove there during the day, it wouldn't exist.
14Pass on this one. The jokes are all played out in these movies. Yet another movie about guys trying to get laid and then get in to trouble. *yawn* And for the record, chick flicks need an overhaul too.
15My boyfriend and I are already planning to see it. I like a lot of tasteless movies.
16"Endorsing" child abuse? Yeah because I bet you everyone that sees this movie is gonna think OH HEY ITS OKAY TO BEAT ON MY KID. No, sorry. And if anyone does, they shouldn't be a parent in the first place to think that because it's in a movie it's okay. Any why don't we ever talk about how chick flicks are? How they tell women how they should be to get the man in a subliminal context. These movies are humor, that is all, anyone who takes them too seriously, needs to lighten up and enjoy life more.
17I hate this kind of movies
I don't understand how some people can find degrading other people funny... maybe it's just me. I can't even laugh when someone trips on a stair step or anything like that... how can someone's pain make you laugh?
18I can't wait for this movie to come out! Its got two of my favortive people in it, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms!!!
19See? This article is a perfect example of what happens when you mix DearSugar, CitizenSugar and GiggleSugar together. Giggle wants to laugh at everything, Citizen thinks everything is an abomination to society and Dear just wants to analyze the relationship/sex. I still think this is stupid. Get Giggle back. I'm so tired of trying to read an article that's meant to make me laugh and relax me and then reading the comments and getting all pissed off because no one can take a bloody joke!
20lighten up its just a moooovie.
if we cant laugh at the most difficult things then they'll destroy is. laughter is my antidote to everything; i can laugh at the most offensive jokes.
21yeah wtf happened to gigglesugar? that was my favorite one
22This movie was hilarious. I laughed through the entire thing. I can't even remember any jokes about the holocaust, so obviously it didn't make some huge impact on me where I now think that child abuse and putting down women are okay. I can't wait for all the trouble "Bruno" starts:). Borat was hilarious too.
