Cynthia Nixon announced her engagement to girlfriend of five years, Christine Marinoni, at a rally in support of same-sex marriage in New York City yesterday. "It's time already," she said, expressing a wish to marry Christine in New York if/when it becomes legal there.

Congratulations! I like Cynthia a lot.
1I've always wondered what's the point in being a lesbian if you're just going to date women that look like men.
2go rojo caliente.
3Congrats to the happy couple! I read a transcript of the speech that she gave at the rally and it was really insightful and well-written. I love her!
4RaCheer; seriously? It sounds quite ignorant to me.
5I don't know her, but I like Miranda a lot!!!
6it's not an ignorant question - perhaps just phrased a little brusquely. my gay friends actually raised the same point in a discussion that started off by one gay friend asking another why he preferred feminine men versus bears.
7I agree with Racheer. Cynthia is gorgeous but her "girlfriend" looks like a 16yr old boy.
8Well whatever. She looks like her older brother. *shudders*
9She looks like a young Bill Gates. I agree why date a woman that looks like a man, if you like woman? Inquiring minds want to know.
10maybe she just likes her as an individual and she happens to be a woman, feminine appearance or not
11I agree RaCheer, but Cynthia isn't really a lesbian, she's dated men all her life and happened to fall in love with a woman (who happens to look man-ish).. and I think in a lot of cases it's not so black and white; gay and straight. You fall in love with people, not genders, right?
Anyway, I'm happy for them. Wish them all the best.
